sliced part of my finger off...ouch

i was fixing an a/c, when i had to cut into a zip-tie to get to some wires...i guess i slipped off, because i successfully sheered a small piece of my index finger off...an ambulance ride,anda doctors notelater, i sit here one-hand typing...with my left arm high in the air. this blows

Been there done that ride....fun ain it!! put some ice on that thing after awhile and it'll numb it up some....just don't do like I did at one point and cut both your feet off!!

Put you some ice in a zip lock bag, and then set it on your finger for a while... It will get cold enough to make it numb eventually.
I know that sucks though... Good luck!

I was taking off a hub cap from a car (an 1970 Orange Opel Kadett Rallye -- you never forget) to work on the brakes. I popped off the cap with a big screwdriver and hit the aluminum MUD FLAP with my left thumb. Continued working on car, taking the lug nuts off with a air wrench when I noticed that the wrench was getting sticky. Looked down and noticed that I had neatly sliced across my knuckle down to the bone. Didn't hurt (cut the nerves). However, the brain signaled to rest of body that it MUST hurt. Butterflied the wound closed and continued working. Still have the scar and can always tell when it's going to rain.

Kooldino, you asked about my feet....abridged version is that I ran through a 1/4" plate glass sliding door when I was 7 and literally sliced both feet off. I have no tendons in my feet with the exeption of both big toes, sliced up the tendons, nerves, and arteries pretty good. spent about 4 hours in reconstructive surgery and another 2 of plastic surgery to cover the other various cuts and puncture wounds. lots of fun...lemme tell ya.

Just about...the right was held on by like a piece of skin the width of your thumb, the left was a little more...not by much though. It was a wild experince..one i hope nobody's gotta got through...derrick will just get a little tingle in his finger when the weather changes, my whole lower body gets to giving out...between the feet and some other injuries i've had.

update...

the "gel foam" is almost all the way gone, and i have been "practicing" bending my finger, it should be all good in no time flat!


BTW... today is one month since the slice!
