Sleezer1533's 2005 Impreza 2.5RS GC

The black looks sooo much better. I like the white but I didn't realize how much better the black would look. Have you tried any lens restoration kits?

Meguiars PlatiX and my personal fav Novus.

They work for the oxidation really well, but the lenses have patches of tiny little etched cracks that this stuff cant get out. Straight on they look clear, but look at an angle and these areas are visible in the sun

Well that stinks. One step at a time I suppose. Keep up the good work. How's school and everything going? I can't remember if you're done or not lol

This is going to drive me nuts...
Did I really edge out an Evo today?!?!

Numbers say no 165hp lightly modded to 276hp looking stock
What happened though says yes

Being that the car is still relatively new to me I pulled an oops tonight.
Noticed that I had a headlight out.
Stopped at autozone, pulled the offending light, and since Ive racked up some points on my rewards card I treated myself those "top-shelf" silverstars. Also picked up a 7443 for my brake/taillight that was out.

Got home, popped the taillight in ... perfect.
Popped the headlight in ... nothing. Fiddled a bit ... nothing.
Popped the other one in to at at least see what they look like ... nothing.

Then realized the 9005 I pulled in the dark parking lot was the high beam. So now I have some fancy high-beams and will be going back in the AM to get some fancy H1s for the headlights.

Good news is I had a high beam out as well but wasnt too concerned just yet since I dont use them ever.

So I debadged the grille yesterday.
Shot it in a nice gloss black

But then my clear coat got confused and thought it was wrinkle paint:

Annoying. Currently waiting for it to dry so I can sand it down and try again

Had the day off so I decided to tackle getting the downstream o2 sensor spacer out of the midpipe.
2012-10-30_12-17-30_966.jpg

Had to unbolt the mid-pipe from the header, unbolt the mid-pipe supporting bracket and slip off the third farthest-back exhaust hanger to get enough room to twist the 90* spacer out without it hitting the underside of the car

Then the o2 sensor seemed to have fused itself into the spacer, so I hit it with some penetrating oil
While it set for a few minutes I decided to remove the leftover bracket from removing the AC that supports the alternator cable, a few zip ties cleaned that up

Then I got the sensor out

Re-assembled everything and realized that with the sensor coming out of the mid-pipe normally, there isnt enough length to plug the sensor back in, so up top I had to get some more room from the harness.
This is how it looks stock

and how I had to tweak it

Then I ventured out into the "hurricane" and drove about 30 miles, no CEL so far. Hope that solves it

Check engine light came back on
To This:

So im thinking the o2 sensor still needs to be spaced. So I used an old one from my old car I had laying around.

Lets see if that does the trick

Was so sure the check engine light was gone this time ...

... but then at 1:30 last night innocently driving through BVille being "escorted" by two police cars that apparently had nothing better to do ... booop ... it came back on.

Gonna read the code tomorrow at work, wondering if getting an extended sensor and using the bung farthest back on the midpipe may do the trick ...

Back to this lol

Gonna have to tweak my spacer tomorrow.

Oh and I took this the other night just for funz, i know its shaky, its taken on my phone.

Then decided to use up the last scrap of CF wrap Ive had laying around to wrap the center dash piece
As you can see the odd angles of the radio opening meant I couldnt get the wrap into those bends without popping back up so I had to cut it back a bit. For now Ill leave it like that. Whenever I get around to getting a decent head unit Ill wrap it again but throw down a coat of flat black underneath so it isnt so obvious.

After hearing that our cars do in fact have cabins, and watching a how-to video I decided to see what mine looked like:

Haha maybe Ill throw one in there at some point :p

Also tweaked my spacer with a spacer, doubt this will do the trick its barely changing it at all. I have one more trick up my sleeve then I might buy an extension and try the sensor bung farther back on the midpipe
