I was wondering if anyone has it and what the quality is and how well it sounds. I'm trying to decide on the HKS axle back or spend a little extra money for the skunk2 cat back. Please let me know. Thanks.

well i will say that i love my HKS and the way it sounds, and i wouldnt spend the extra loot on a skunk2 exh, however nice...but just my .02

If I'm not mistaken, no one has the Skunk2 yet because Skunk2 has yet to release it. I called them for about 3 months straight and kept getting the smae answer: "Four to six weeks for it to be released." I talked to Rishie and he said that they used his cars to prototype the exhaust over a year ago, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

the skunk2 is supposed to be pretty loud. the hks is on the quieter side but both give decent performance gains. i like how the skunk2 looks though (btw, it's made by RS-R invidia).

Skunk i believe only purchases the canisters from RS-R. I'm not sure if they do all the piping too.

But anyways, those guys owe us exhausts and I'm extremely disappointed in the company. They took time out of my frikin day, a lot of it. Had to drive 45mi and did it to help a fellow industry member. But they since moved and haven't heard s***.

Not only that but Skunk and HP are going hand in hand with their ETA BS. I don't trust a thing said about ETAs. Buy the JIC, it's way better.

As far as sites having prices and whatnot, I've learned the hard way that places like to put stuff up on their sites even if they never have the product, esp. with these Mazdas. I've seen tons of parts that are supposedly available, only to never have been made. For a while there NOPI had a header from APC I believe it was on their site, and then a few weeks later it was mysteriously gone. APC still has it listed on their site, but they only prototyped it. I'll be installing my JIC this weekend, and fromwhat I understand, it's the way to go.

yea go to www.streetstlyer.com, they have arospeed headers for 199 that they have never recieved and now are saying they were out of stock and they might be discontinued! i sent them an email back saying WTF you never had them instock to begin with!

it is full cat back...oh and Rishie...check your PM...i want pricing on a JIC

as listed on jic's homepage...it's like $695....freakin expensive. and if you do get it, do yourself a favor and replace the resonator with a larger one or just a straight pipe.....the jic one is tiny as hell on the inside.

The resonator serves it's purpose well on the JIC. That resonator makes for a beautiful tone. It's one of the reasons, along with weight, that I love my JIC.

I have one protege5 left. The sedans are on backorder. Only 10 or so come into the US a month. The sedans have sold out very quickly. We buy all the incoming stock. I might have a few available on the shipment coming. You guys get a club deal on these exhausts. It is still amongst the more expensive but well worth it. It's full Stainless.

You can remove the resonator and get a silencer if you wish to quiet it down.

The skunk2 catback system is out. My friend here in atlanta just sold his about a month ago. The quality was good the only problem was it was to loud. The p5 is his wifes car. From what he tells me the skunk2 is the lesser restrictive of the exhaust systems. If you want I can see if he can ship you one, or you can email the store at nexgenracing@bellsouth.net or call at (770)960-9731 ask for Eric.
