Skid Plate damaged

Driving down the highway yesterday, not sure how it happened but I was going pretty fast. I don't know if I hit something or the the car managed to bottom out so to speak and hit the skid plate but it busted in a few spots, some of the plastic was hanging. It looks to still be protecting much of the same area but again it def broke off some in areas and is kinda hanging there in others. Any idea where I could get a new skid plate, and/or how much one would cost?

Thanks guys

So the skid plate is just kinda dangling there flapping when on the highway and I'm kinda broke right now. Obviously its on there to protect the underside but what about just removing it for now until I can get the cash to buy a new one? Or should I not even go there?

Mine is also cracked. You're referring to the part that needs to be removed to access the oil pan and filter, correct? Let me know if you can find it online and what price it is.

If the piece you're talking bout is the large, black, plastic piece that Steve is talking about, it's not really there for protection so much as it's there to help keep the engine bay clean and reduce wind drag and noise at higher speeds.

You can certainly take it off. If it's only dangling there, I would remove it until you can find a replacement.

Maybe he is refering to the piece in the front that scoops up air.

See if you can find someone with a cpe fmic that is willing to sell. I bet the dealer wants a fortune.

The lower part that redirects air is a 2 piece setup, and are $30 each from the online parts vendor.

I'm looking for the splash guard, but after trying to navigate the system online i couldn't seem to locate it.

i am currently working with my friend to design a "rally armor" type of aluminum skidplate for the speed6, we have a couple sheets of 3/16 brushed aluminum that we're gonna crease and bolt to the bottom of the car. also gonna try for a rear diffuser for the middle of the rear bumper. they sell them for $200+ for subies, will see how much time/material it costs to produce. also we dont want to add more than 5-10lbs to the car so itll take a while.

Interested to see what you guys come up with, keep us posted with pics.

Yea, you don't need to have that piece on. I would pull it off until you can get another one that's all in one piece.

id take it off, if whats left of it falls off at highway speeds u could damage another part of the car..

I took mine off a while ago. That way it can cool the oil pan and transfer case better :)

oooh i best get speeding up on this aluminum can someone find a price quote for the OEM one. for the first round of sales, i will most likely care to make $10 profit over cost per skid plate i make for the first round, then if they work longterm with no problems, i'll start to website them out. Shredder Armor.

Don't forget if you plan on selling them, you'll need to get AMM status approved by Antoine.
