in order for rap music to go back to what it was. the south needs to break off from the rest of america.
how do you take a bunch of dances that were "original" if you could call it that, combine them all, and call it an original dance.

WTF?

what is music to me.

well, i listen to alot of underground, small label bands. stuff you see at smaller venues. most of the music i listen to is metalcore, which has alot of hardcore elements, but instead of being a pounding annoyance, it has a melody to it. i love music that sounds good. as for a rap, i dont really like alot of the new stuff tahts out there. i like lyrical rap artists. if you want to know what im talking about check out a guy named Apathy.

listen to his music, and then tell me his ethnicity.

It isn't music...it's a yell-a-thon. ANYONE can put together a rap song as long as they have the capability to yell about bitches, hos and money. There are no melodies...there is no vibrato. There's just computer generated background noise accompanied by yelling. There's nothing exceptional about it.

With the exception of instrumentals, music involves actual singing. Having the ability to hit and hold a note is quickly becoming a lost art. This is just an endurance test for the nerves.

I can't see/access the pic/movie/whatever, but I'll bet you're talking about that 'Soulja Boy' or any of the countless other stupid, insipid, annoying dances/dance songs that intantly shoots to #1 upon release down here.

That almost all you hear on the radio here in Dallas. One simplistic dance song after the other. If not that, it's some talentless clown with a Yung Joc level of rhyimg skill... But don't think that's all the South is good for... We've still got Outkast, UGK, and Lil' Wayne...

Everything said has been personal opinions. I think that metalcore or hard core rock or anything like that is a yell-a-thon, I can't tell what they say and it all sounds the same to me, but I don't think they are talentless or suck. I personally listen to all kinds of rap because I like them all and I dont expect everything to sound the same.

I think Talib Kweli and Mos Def are the only rappers who should be allowed to release albums. And bring Souls of Mischief back. 93 to infinity baby.

But at the same time, i listen to every kind of Death metal, grindcore, power metal, 80s thrash, norwegian black metal, stoner rock and whatever other kind of metal you can think of.

But as far as Metal "core" goes, I have 4 words Death to False Metal. Same goes for Nu-Metal.

Silly silly song. I like all types of music though so to each his own. One could easily argue that a bunch of rockers yelling into a mic is not music, or the repetitous techno isn't music.

Different strokes for different folks.

Because of one person that came into my life years ago, music will always be about stellar voices backed up by good music. That person is Martha Wash. She was the voice behind 90s groups C&C Music Factory and Black Box, and she's not the skinny Italian model in the attached video. I've seen Martha sing in person at 7 different concerts and to this day she's the only performer that sounds just as good to me in person as she does on a recording. It's unfortunate that she was entangled in the Milli-Vanilli-esque scandal that rocked the music industry in the early 90s, but in this case she was one of the unwitting victims. She went on to make her own music on her own terms, but thanks to how the music industry views physical size as a liability, she never received the notoriety she deserved for being the person providing the actual vocals on C&C's and Black Box's albums.

Voices like hers is why I refuse to accept people grabbing a mic and talking into it as 'music'. The ability to sing well is a huge part of what makes it up, IMO.

I loved C+C Music factory and Black box....Brings back memories.

It's a shame that her creativity had to be masked by a false image, but if it wasn't we wouldn't have been blessed to have the music. The End Justified the means you know....

I'm all for Hip Hop and Rap, when it has some sort of talent to it...
However this is seriously crap. I mean it's a bad Casio keyboard style beat, with a bunch of yelling and some snappy marketing. I'm surprised they didn't try and pimp out more clothing brands in the video.

Gifted lyricist. Interesting song premise, much so much garbage and defamation that I excercised my right to turn it off before my ears bled anymore. I lost interest at the constant comparisons to hitler. Bush and the church and America are the devil. Yup. Got it.

I'm guessing the video is user created and is not actually the video that goes with the song, and it it is, its even more worthless. Some valid points but far to one sided to be taken seriously.

Once again, melodic beat, and a very gifted lyricist. Too bad the material is so twisted.
