My very first mod to my mazda3 and I fail at it. Tried installing the auxmod and ended up killing my whole head unit it seems. Yes I checked the fuse, yes I checked the harness connections, yes the grounds good. I just fail and want to go cry in a corner now(sad1)

Im not sure how its possible, but I've been on google all day and apparently its happened to other people as well? Maybe my radio just wanted to die? Also do u know if its possible to replace my radio with a 06-09 one? thanks

as far as i know, 2006 to 2008 are the same,try your local auto wrecker to see if you can get a used one, keep your old stereo if the used one is missing buttons, is it currently installed in your car? also the aux mod does not show up as aux on the display... it shows up as tape, i just installed this mod myself and i can't see how the mod can ruin your stereo, does it work without the mod? does it turn on ? what is happeneing? what do you see or hear? do you smell electrical smoke?

It was installed but I removed many times, actually pulled it down today and see what was wrong internally but found nothing. Doesnt work without mod. Doesnt turn on period. Nothing is happening lol. No lights, no sound. No electrical smoke. Its just gone :/ but i think its because I cant remember if i pulled the negative before i started or during.....

if you got a friend with the same car try using your stereo in his car? if your stereo works in his car then you know its your wiring, if your fuses are good and your power is good it has to be a short in your wiring. but if your stereo is the problem you could wreck your buddys car too :S

thanks. Now to find out as much info about the diffrenced between a 06 and 04 radio ASAP because i saw one for 10$ i want
