side molding problem...

I have a problem. I want to take off my side molding but i juss finished gettin parts of my car repainted. Will the paint under the molding be different shades.

its not evne good to put chemical on your freash paint for almost two months the chemicals in it can cause the paint to lift. Bump this tomorrow day ime when peopel are awake

I took my side molding off after 2 years and it wasnt any different of a color to me. But if you just got parts of the car repainted wait at least 30 days before doing anything like waxing or applying chemicals to the paint. Let it set. Im waiting 90 days to touch my car with wax or any chemicals. I dont have to $$ to have it repainted again.

I noticed that thank you hence the rest of my post.
He had said that parts of the vehicle were repainted. not the entire car. I was addressing the fading issue of the unrepainted parts. :D

who you asking?

Mine was because of FL horrible drivers!!!!!! Also the reason i had to buy new rims,

if you got parts repainted where there is the side molding, DO NOT remove the side moldings. i rear ended a friend of mine a few months after getting my car, and they blended the paint into the front fenders and front doors. when i took the side moldings off, i found out they painted right over them, and it was a slightly different color underneath, but more importantly there was paint that sort of connected the body panel to the moldings, which looked aweful:( if they painted over the side moldings, you'll have to remove them, then have the doors and fender repainted:(

if the body shop did it right then they should have taken the side moldings off before they painted the doors and not just paint over them.

Bad Florida drivers? care to elaborate?

haha ill break it down.

Front bumper subject to corner of a wall. I thought I had clearance (just got the car did quite know the car.)

Drivers side quarter panel subject to road construction! Had no where to go had to run it over spit it up into the panel then it spun into the passenger side drip panel.

rear bumper- kids that shouldnt have their cars he had an explorer and the brakes were bad I saw he come popped it in N and then turn to the curb and wait for him to hit me so I would hit the guy in front of me. Had to do a rough pull on the frame. Good thing my body shop guy rocks!

Rims

1st one old lady was blocking me in a parking spot had to try and get out another way scraped a rim

2nd and 3rd fell asleep at the wheel at 4 am

4th run off the road while doing 65mph through 3 lanes right into a curb.

ugh. Im sorry I asked :( But I can understand what you are talking about. A friend of mine went to home depot and she came out and there was a truck parked diagonal over her car. We have no idea how the hell the woman did it but when we finally found her, she came out and blamed it entirely on my friend.

actually it's common practice for them to just paint over the trim, as long as they are already painted;) your car came with the black trim, so they had to paint around yours, but they should have removed it, so you didn't have that black strip under it:p

my car was repainted on 2 door and a fender because i got into an accident. Im pretty sure that they painted over the molding . im juss not sure if i should remove them

just wait another month and go at it. you'll be happy you did because it looks sooooooooo much better. click on the link in my sig for pics
