just off the top of my head:

zapco competition amps. C2K4KW for the sub and three C2K6.0 for the front components:
www.zapco.com

rainbow reference components for up front:
CS 360.30

kicker soloX 18" subwoofer. if that isn't enough bass, you didn't set it up right.
www.kicker.com

some MIT oracle V3.1 RCA's and the oracle V3.1 ultra-wide bandwidth speaker interfaces. you'll need 4 sets of each:
www.mitcables.com

for a source unit, get the alpine TMI-M990 and to compliment it, get the PXI-H990 for processing:
http://www.alpinef1status.com/e/products/index.html

that would be one sick setup, and it would only set you back a little over $50k(first)

edit: forgot about power delivery:

you're going to need an upgraded alt, at least 200 amps. you should probably invest in a dual alternator setup, so you have at least 500 amps output from the alt capability.

you'll need about 4 of these:
http://www.batterymart.com/battery.mv?p=ODY-PC2150-T

you'll need 4 sets of these:
http://www.gadgetpros.com/efxpopoondeb.html

you'll also need a ton of 1/0 cable, plus some 4 gauge for each of the zapco 6.0 amps:
http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KOL1/0RS

have fun distributing the power properly for all the amps.

all that will add in around $2k to the total price of everything.

now that all that is out of the way, how about being realistic with what you want? post your goals and a real budget(poke)

are those rainbows better than the iridiums?

also instead of 3 6.0's, you can get a 6.0 for the midbass's and a 2.5 for the rest and it would still be overkill (and still 1 channel per speaker).. zapco is amazing tho

also how are the solox's for SQ? i know they're def good for SPL, but i'd say 1 12" image dynamics idmax, especially since its a hatch.. you could still get a good SPL with just that

wake, how much would those mit wires cost?

alpine f1 ftw :)

i put in the soloX to show the extreme of bass. a square 18" sub has the surface area of a pair of 15's and is rediculously heavy. the only more extreme sub i can think of is the jackhammer from MTX. plus when you see one of those beasts moving in an out 2", it's scary.

the rainbow reference comps retailed for $10k last i checked (the set with the passive x-overs, anyways). i've never had the opportunity to listen to them, but for $10k, they better sound better than the iridiums ;)

the MIT wires start at about $3500 for EACH set. they account for about $28k of the $50k.

the whole point of the post was for extreme overkill. whenever i see someone post: "pick out a system for me, i have no budget" i always laugh because unless you're loaded, you always have a budget.

id love to see that 18 move -- never had the chance yet.
any idea the air space needed? I dont feel like looking it up :)

a LOT. they recomend 5-10 cu ft, but i'd run it in at least 10 cu ft.

That is nice -- not much of an Altima fan but that would be worth it to buy --- take out the stereo and sell the car - hehehehe

It's not the equipment that makes that car great (although it is top-notch gear). Its how it is installed and more importantly how it is tuned.

scott's car is amazing sounding. the only change is that the amps are no longer water cooled since the guy that bought the altima lived up north and was worried about them freezing over.

What's that amp I saw in the Consumer Electronics Show last year... fully analog (i.e vacuume tubes instead of diodes)? I remember that being expensive..

and what's so special about those MIT wires? $3500 each... they better do my taxes...

there are other more expensive amps, but zapco served its purpose ;)

the MIT cables are supposedly able to widen the sound stage and make the speakers "sound" better. some are believers, others, like myself, believe that if it changes the sound, it is a distortion generating device and should not be used. if it makes things sound better, you can recreate it without the use of passive devices and then you can tailor it to your liking. they are just a good example of over the top in the audio arena. there are other cables more expensive than the MIT ones as well, but those are primarily in the home audio environment.

Alright guys i apreaciate the help befor but i was kinda hoping the systems were gunna be below 50 k but o well. im only seventeen so i need a nice system for my budget. sorry guys.. I would say i could spend around two grand maybe more but it might have to be down the road. but anythign goes.

have fun DRIVE SAFE... wear a helmet

(poke)

What do you want it for? There is a huge difference between a competition system, and most every run of the mill street beater setups...

R U going to compete?
