I'm in the market for a roof rack for a canoe. I'd appreciate it if we could get some roof rack pictures up as well as any relevant information that's going to help me out. Show me your rack.

heres my rack:

Old Thule rack that I have had on 3 different Mazdas now...

Could not live without it!!! I carry Mountain Bikes, Skis and a box, awesome rack.

I'm probably going to get a prorack http://www.prorack-international.com/ go to the website and it will show what it looks on the car

not too sure if its avail in your area.

the thule ones sit upright far too much for my liking. the prorack one also utilises the gutter mounting points, unlike some others where they have a strap or rubber pad (which can rub against the paintwork)

only wish the prorack came in black however :(

I dont think we have the threaded mounting points under our gutters. At least there is no cut away that I have seen like on other cars that are meant to be mounted that way.

We have the threads for them. The canadian models have the rain gutters with the slids in them already. I dont understand why we didn't just get the same rain gutters.

I have the Thule rack with the FIX-POINTS installed.

You have to take off the aluminum rain gutter, mark where the fix points are, then use a dremel and cut a hole in the gutter just big enough for the screw from the Thule piece, to go through the rain gutter and into the car.

Some photos that have on my computer.

I also have the Thule system with Fixed Points.
I used the slits in the rain gutters (Canadian model).
I mounted a Thule Ascent 1600 on it. Perfect box for a Mazda3/MS3.

It's an amazing system. Very easy to install and the box opens on both sides.

Did you have to sort out the mounting on your own, or did Thule provide instructions for how/where to drill? I much prefer the look of these towers and have been wondering about how this system mounts on our cars.
