Show me your CX-5 wheels

I can't offer a comparison between my 19" and 20" wheels simply because the tires are so different.
Was thinking more about the effect of sidewall height on ride quality today. Many people say that reducing sidewall reduces ride quality, but there has to be more variables in play. Take the MX-5 for example with 205/45/17 tires. Those have a sidewall height of only 3.6". Meanwhile my 245/45/20 setup has a sidewall height of 4.3". I never hear complaints about ride quality on Miatas. Food for thought.

Miata owners have different expectations.

Have you driven a Miata over rough roads?

Drove a '24 MX-5 with the 205/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza S001 tires and I think the ride quality is a little bit better than my CX-5 with the 245/45/20's and aftermarket springs. Not counting the issues I'm having. I think if I can solve them the ride quality will be similar.

Did you take it home? :D

Konig Diverge - 20 x 8.5, 32mm Offset

Wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus, 245/45ZR20, combined weight per corner = 52.23#, for a net weight savings of 7.77# over the existing combo when purchased (OEM 19x7J (32#), Yokohama YK CTX, 225/55R19 (28#), for a combined weight of 60#). Published numbers for all. Konigs are 26.23# and the Contis are 26.0#, so a significant difference in both tire and wheel. Have been really pleased with the upgrade -- better handling, better track (i.e., tires more flush with wheel wells now), and much more aesthetically pleasing (IMO). Should look even better when I finally get the H & R springs installed. Thanks for reading. Please be kind with criticisms. Ego strokes always welcome! :)

does putting bigger tires on your car make it more higher? obviously right? your cx-5 looks higher up in the after pictures

It must be the angle.

225/55/19 and 245/45/20 are the same diameter.

By the way, those Continentals are 28 lb, not 26. I weighed them.

Yes, as N7turbo said, these are the same OD as the previous footwear. Camera angle plays a part, and also probably the more open wheel spoke design.

@N7turbo thanks for the good info. As stated, just going off published numbers. I didn’t actually weigh anything.

Great looking wheels @CharlieX5er In all fairness, I may be a little biased as they look very similar to the Flyin' Miata Kogeki's on my Miata. ;) Which are made for FM by Konig...hmmmmm hahaha

We just bought a cx8. The dealer had put 22" wheels on it.
It actually drove really nicely on them on rough roads. I was surprised. But the thought of potholes saw us negotiate the OEM 19" alloys and new tires put back on.

Sunny and ~10 hours after cleaning and applying Hybrid Solutions Graphene Acrylic tire product.

They say measure twice, cut once. Well I measured a dozen or more times and I'm happy I did.

Fresh out of the alignment shop to get the rear camber to zero.

20x9 +45 245/45/20 truly is the best flush fitment.

I've seen it said that the rear needs more offset than the front, or wheel spacers. That is not true in my experience. It looks square all around.

long time lurker, 2016 GT from Canada, with a little less than 40,000 kms (25,000 miles), sleeps in my garage most of the time.... nothing too crazy here, 19's on the stock Toyos, might upgrade to some 20" CX-9 GT wheels next Summer.
