Do you have any bochures of the Protege5 or even a Mazdaspeed laying around?
If so perhaps get a piece of wood or something that is about the height of the bochures, use that to prop the hood up. Then place the bochures (2 if possible) to hide the prop.
Be a "creative" way to hide a otherwise ugly prop.

Or if you have some springs laying around, give them a quick blast with paint that perheps matches your car or contrasts it.

Hm thats cool then, or any part left over from a install.

If you can't find bochures then perhaps the owners manual case (the black thing that holds all the papers with the Mazda symbol on it) turn up on its side. If your welling put a hole in it for the prop. Only problem being that the case is not very tall on its side so the hood won't be prop very high.

Or.....if you still have your World War II Online game box use that then post it on the OT forum It'll get a big kick there.
