Should I get my rims professionally done or..?

Hello ! This is my first post on Mazda247, but I've been lingering around for a while. I just got my Mazda3 -used- and I want to do some basic mods to it

My question is whether I should get my rims painted professionally or should I do it myself with spray paints? I'm real new to everything, its my first car

in my opinion, i'd say getting it professionally done.

i think it looks too ricer if people paint their own wheels with spray paint.
better yet, just save up for some legit wheels.

just my opinion, everyone has different taste. do what makes you happy

Since you are new to this....its probably best to do a test/practice run before you go pulling your wheels off.
Go to a junkyard and get a cheap 14" alloy, like something off an 80s Hyundai. I wouldn't spend more than $25.
Take it home and use it as a test platform.
By the time you are done, you will know if you want to spend the time/money/effort to do the four wheels yourself. And you can objectively see the quality of work before committing.

And painting...75% of the work is in the prep work, not the actual spray. So expect to put the time in or it will look like crap.

Yeah, I'm not too comfortable doing it myself but I'm not so sure where I could get it professionally done around here. Shame.

Edit: well, its looking like I'm just gonna pick up some rims new sooner or later, thanks for the help

if you take it to a good local paint shop(see if there are any recommendations) i'm sure they could do some nice work for ya

or just order some new wheels...
