short-throw problem

i just put on my pacesetter short-throw...and it's a pain in the ass to change gears...the throw is short as hell, but you have to put your ass into changing gears...how do i correct this?

I belive the pacesetter needs white grease on the fulcrum. If you did grease it up correctly, just give it some time to set in. If you still have problems, take the shaft out and make sure it is facing the right way. Your next step would be to look under the car and make sure the bolt holding your bushings in isn't too tight.

One question though, were you in neutral when installing the shifter?

I actually have the same problem, but after a little while it started loosening up on me.

i'll check all of that...thanks...and yeah, i was in neutral. i greased the ball...and i believe the shaft is facing the right way...but the guy who put it in said that he may have tightened the bolt too tight...i'll check it out today.
Thanks!

Actually, don't thank me, thank the forum members. Before joining this forum I didn't know crap about cars. Now I think I know enough to get by.

off-topic, but how far did you adjust the pacesetter? i'm curious about getting one just because of the adjustability, but i'm concerned about longevity. if you adjusted it all the way (80% reduction), exactly how short is it?

i adjusted the ball about 3/4 up the shifter...so it's rather short...it has a screw to hold the ball in place...if it starts to screw up...i'll just buy something else.
