Short Shifter

I just started driving my P5, really new to it and was wondering if a short shifter was a good investment. I feel like the throws are way to long and the car would be more fun with a short shifter. any recommendations?

Use the search function. I have the Kartboy shifter and like it. I also installed kartboy bushings.

Yes, search! I also have the Karboy short shifter and bushings. I think that you will find that everyone who has a short shifter feels it is a great mod.

yea the stock shifter is sooo tall, i have the kartboy ss and bushings, not only is in a shorter throw but its a smoother shift too

On the cheap

I just installed a cheap Ebay short shifter on my P5 and it went pretty well. Install was pretty straight forward and everything went together reasonably well. I probably shoulda ponied up for a name brand, but am happy so far. It works great, especially in tandem with the urethane shifter bushings I got from PG. Much more precise and tight.

easy install took me bout 20mins
most of the time it was jackn up the car itself and tryna replace my stock bushings
but yea TWM worth it
reallly short throws and its crispy throws not sluggish sliding into gear feel

It's a great mod man, go for it. You definitely won't regret. I just got my Kartboy installed, and the difference is amazing.

There are two generations of TWM shifters. Get the newer one. I had an older one, and it was stiff as hell, to the point of being unusable.

I would definitely recommend a weighted knob. I have one on the stock shifter right now and it makes the shifts feel smoother and more solid at the same time.

kartboy doesnt make short shifters for Pro's anymore...ApexUMS sold the last ten know to be in existence awhile back...you'd have to get one used if you want a kartboy

Ah.. Thank explains why there is not a lot on their site. Thanks a lot I will look around to see if I can't find a Kartboy for a P5.

If I can't find one, I will go with the TWM theirs looks pretty good and with a few people around on the forums having installed them.
