So i think i am gonna get the twm ss (mainly because I can't find a kartboy, if anyone knows where to find one plz let me know) after reading what people had to say on the forum, but I am curious what is the fuss with the bushings in the linkage, not the ones at the base of the shifter itself. is it that big of a difference.

it is a big difference. go to www.kartboy.com they still sell bushings/exhaust hangers and shifters. i bought a set of exhaust hangers a couple of months ago. they're stiffer than stock and keep the exhaust from moving around so much...they also raise it a little bit higher.

the shifter bushings give the shifter a more precise feel...great, cheap mod...and it's easy to do as well.

thanks, but when i went to the site it said that the shifters were discontinued, do you know where i could find a kartboy ss

maybe used in the f/s section of the forum...but they are hard to find. i had the twm in my old p5...i liked it...it was a little stiff at first, but after a while it came around.

i got a megan racing short shifter and have never had a problem. i got it off of ebay about a year ago id say. it came with soem metal sifter but i never used it. i bought a new msp knob from ebay as well and i like it, only thing is the metal part gets real hott in summer and real cold in winter haha

If you are still in the market for a shifter, our Protege short shifters can be obtained with the polyurethane shifter linkage bushings as a package at this link: TWM Protege Short Shifters

Based on my experience and customer feedback, the bushings do make a huge difference. They basicallly remove the play from the shifter and make the shifting feel much more direct and solid. They do not make shifting stiffer, it just feels like you are more directly connected to the car.

I hope this helps, feel free to give us a call toll free at 1-877-655-0540 for any questions or orders.

Thanks,
