Short Shifter Install

I am really loving the new shift feel now that I've had some time to get used to it. Everything has been rock solid so far and I have had no issues with the plate. All I did was adjust the angle of one of the bends so the plate would fit properly, since I noticed prior to install it was not sitting flush at the end opposite the bolt.

Which bolt? There is a pic a bit farther back of a modded plate with an extra bolt near the end opening/stock ball location.

I posted my pic back a bit of my bolt modification. It's not really hard just drill the hole with the plate held in position far enough away from the bend in the OEM shift link to get a bolt on.

Maybe we can get people to post their model year or build date and weather or not the shifter failed. Maybe we can narrow it down to see who would need the extra bolt.

Build date: 08-11 (one of the very last 2011's)

Encountered the problems stated above. Remedied with a drill and a small bolt.

I'm a 2012. Mine was manufactured in December 2011. The fitment seems to be holding on mine without modification.

2012 here as well, but after replacing my broken bolt the plate does not sit flush on the arm.

I'm all for drilling, but I paid for a part that should work out of the box. If I bought used, it would be another story. CS isn't paying me to re-engineer their part and make it work, so I'm not doin it! I can live with my shifter until they come up with a solution that is covered by their warrenty. Besides, there is 3ft of snow on the ground right now haha.

Get a stronger grade bolt and another nyloc nut. Adjust bracket angle so the plate sits nice and flush. Put it in place and insert the new bolt and nut. No drilling required. A vice helps though with holding the bracket while making the angle adjustment.

It's my first exp with a short shifter. Corksport say that the throw is reduced by 30? Feel to me like 90% ahahaha I dont honestly know if I did sonething wrong but I barely have to move the shifter to shift gear. I know that this is the goal of having a short shifter but I wasn't expecting THAT much of a difference lol...

I will test it more after work. The gear were also harder to engage I guess it is normal.

Fitment is a bit of for me too bit the piece is holding fine. For me the trouble was that the nut for the stid was not thight enough.. The sud was moving.

I know our engineer is working on this but I am not sure what the specific corrective action will be. I do know we have held up shipping out anymore shifters until next week for the corrective action.

I am one of those customers, and quite frankly you guys can take your time and send me my part when you get all the bugs worked out. It gives me a little more time to get some more parts, Mwah ha ha ha ha.

With all respect, is pretty much clear what the issue is with the beloved plate, why you don't disclose the solution you are offering to the people on the phone.

Thanks

Andres

I would love to but I don't know what it is.

I called and did not get a solution over the phone.

I haven't had the plate pop off because I ziptied the heck out of it to prevent having issues on the road like other people. I'll send an email out anyway.

I'm still very glad CorkSport produced this for the 2 and I am happy with it on mine. There aren't very many products out there and its not like there are a huge number of 2 owners that modify their cars anyway.

I chatted with our engineer, he wants to make sure the solution he has in mind works before saying anything about it.
