Good Question on the noise. did you check to make sure the shifter isnt hitting the heatshield? did you transfer the rubber boot from the OE to the Kartboy? did you grease the shifter ball in the center before putting the plastic cups on?

"Yeah Hi" - office space... anyway... i installed the SS without the bushings first... and i didnt hear a thing... 3 days later when i installed the bushings... like about half an hr later i start hearing the howl that people r talkin about... i did everything u mentioned and i still am getting this howl... any more ideas of why this is and what i should do about it...

BTW... KARTBOY IS THE SHIZZNIT!!!

I just installed Kartboy. Bushings first and couple of days later ss+knob.

I bent the heatshield just about 0.5" with pliers. You'll see how much you have to bend it when you do it. Don't worry about it.

I already removed the "hard knob" and put the stock knob back, like it better at the moment. IMO it got too short but with stock knob it's perfect. I'll recommend Kartboy.

Here's a before and after pics.

Just installed my Kartboy SS, bushings and knob this afternoon and its great! Stiffer than my old shifter but the throw is a vast amount shorter. :D Bent the heatshield a bit by hand so it wouldn't hit it, but that was no big deal, all in all it was a pretty easy install... Did it without instructions, then came online and realize I could have printed some off haha. Ah well I double checked and its working and installed correctly! and I am loving it!

Hey guys... I'm worried that I might have either overtightened or too loosely tightened my bolts for the ss and bushings. Can someone tell me what the torque for these bolts SHOULD be? I tightened them with my socket wrench until I felt it tight, but don't know if that's good enough. Thanks...

P.S. Does anyone hear a lil whine that comes from the ss with the cluth engaged, or even without?
