So I spent much of the day doing some catching up on maintenance and such, finally got my brakes fixed (no more squeaking yay!), plugs, oil change, polished the old yellowed headlight to look closer to the new not-yet-faded one, re-installed the headlight bulbs so they're in correctly and point forward instead of right on the ground in front of me, stuff like that. Afterwards I rewarded myself and my car by giving her a bath and some long-neglected detailing. And as I was doing all that it occurred to me that I've not yet put up any pictures of my beloved MP5. At least, not since the pictures of the damage from hitting the deer.
And now I feel like I've neglected my poor car in yet another way. So to remedy that, and to hopefully keep her happy with me for a while, I'm finally showing off my car.
Her name is Shiva (inspired by the SNES-era Final Fantasy games) and she's a cold hard b****, but that's another story.
(The only editing done to these pictures is the masking of the license plate (and the cropping of one picture.) All taken with my phone, which has a pretty damn good camera, honestly, and which does interesting things with sunlight at the right angles.)
Here, we can see the dent from the rear-end impact from late 2007 - Land Rover rear-ended the Civic behind me, the Civic guy's seatback broke and he was suddenly in the back seat just making suggestions as to where his Civic should go, and the Civic ran right into me.
Just because I like it:
It's not all great, though. I still have some work to do:
I need a new antenna. The clearcoat on the spoiler is finally giving out on me. And I need to get the tinting redone - though I'll still suck up to the police a little bit if I can. Can't hurt.
This little guy has been around since before I drove it off the lot.
And the one that pains me the most - about 3 months ago I apparently got door-checked in parking lots twice. None of that was there before spring.
