Shifts getting stiffer???

Is it normal for the shifts to get firmer as the car puts on mileage? I'm basically @ about 1000 miles on it, it seems like the shifts are definitely firmer....

Some of my shifts seemed a little odd, particularly the 2-3 & the 4-5.....like its not as smooth getting into 3rd & 5th....

This afternoon, after parking in my driveway I just went through the gears and it seems as though the distance from neutral to 2,4, & 6 is longer -- where as 1,3,5 there is slightly more resistance & it seems like the the distance from neutral is shorter....

Is this normal? Or is it worth havin it checked out?

maybe your are stroking your car just right to make it shift "stiffer" lol. sry had to say it. duuno. maybe this is how it should be after the breakin period.

Nothing you can really do about it other than upgrading your shifter or throwing in some motor mounts/bushings.

Mazda gave us stinky shifters
