Shifting Question

I been reading the posts lately and a lot of people are having problems shifting from 1st to 2nd.

I personally fixed this problem for myself, I just moved the seat back, and stayed in 1st til about 3.5k RPM, I know it is a long time to be in first, but for me it stops that unsmooth shift.

However, now I am mis shifting. I can shift perfectly don't get me wrong, but I am practicing for the drag track(only plan to drag it once, just to see).

I know how to correct this problem, I need a short shifter. Does anyone know if one is being made? Or is made?

Will a MP3 or a P5 short shifter work in our MSPs?

Any info would be great! Thanks!

The MP3 and MP5 short throw shifters will work with your MSP. Check out the Kartboy one, and do a search for short throw. Theres tons of questions and answerds about the sifferent options and someone even posted a pic comparing the sizes of all the options.

I just found out MSP has a short shifter? Can anyone confirm? I know it is really short STICK, but is it a true short shifter? Get back to me thanks!

there is also a thread in the How To section for installing a shifter, it sounds like alot of the people who have them on MSP's think they were just a waste of money, mabey you just want to get the kartboy bushings, can't go wrong with them....

dude, look at the pics. It's OBVIOUSLY a shorter throw. That, plus the bushings make the shifting completely different, and better, IMHO.

Interesting, looks like the kartboy is the shortest? Looks like I am sold.

Thanks Albert.

Just FYI, that pic of the 4 shifters shows the 1st generation TWM Shifter. I think the second one is a a little shorter up top. Their web site has lts of info.
