Shark Antenna Anyone?

Correct me if I am wrong but don't frequencies travel in wave lines?
#2 Wouldn't the higher the antenna the more line of sight it has for reception?

I am just basing this from a communications class I took.
I like the idea of the shark fin antenna but I would not do it simply because it will result in lower reception you would have to be in areas relatively closser to the am/fm transceiver I think the car looks good with it's basic antenna

I agree with your logic, but really you are only talking about a height difference of about two inches. That's like saying lowering your car (or riding with three adults in the back seat) will hurt your stereo reception. Even if it translates into a mile less range on a particular radio station, most people who live relatively close to civilization wouldn't even notice.

That said; I agree that the stock antenna looks pretty good though. Back in the day, people used to want to upgrade to a "fubu"!

so you are going for it? your going to install sharkie on your whip?

Probably not; I still like the fubu and I'm a little afraid that the sharkfin would get knocked off at the car wash.

My sharkie has survived at least 15 car washes and a minnesota winter. I wouldn't worry about it coming off.

As for reception-- Just as good, if not better, then the OEM horsewhip.

I LOVE my sharkie antenna.
