Service minded dealer

Hi!

I have had some contact with my dealer about some things since I got my new 2008 Mazda 5. I still have some accessories to be installed in my car so I asked them if they could install a pair of system speakers in the front doors at the same time. I told him I didn't know what size the original speakers are so he promised to get back to me. I got an e-mail today from my dealer and he told me that he had talked to a whole lot of people if they knew the size of the speakers. He even spoke to Mazda Motor Sweden to get the information. No one knew what size it is. Now he has promised to talk to the workshop to see if they can remove a doorpanel of a Mazda 5 in the auto shop and measure the speaker just because of me asking if they could help me install some better speakers. He will even call a car audio shop they engage for audio installements in Mazda cars.

What I want to say is that the dealer is very service minded. It's no surprise that they sell most Mazda of all dealers in Sweden. I just hope everyone will have the same treatment from their dealers as I have had. But yes, they should of course have this information at hand from the beginning but that wasn't the case. I'm still happy with the effort my dealer puts on my issue.

At last, now I happen to know that the speaker size is 5x7" or 6x8" but I haven't told the workshop that yet. (evil) I'm curious in how long it takes for them to find out the information.

What are your experiences in customer treatment from dealer?

Bye!

I avoid my local dealer as much as possible. When they had to fix my Miata's broken power window regulator, they installed the window switch upside down, claiming that they didn't work on enough of them.

My dealer here in Illinois is horrible. The salesman knew less about the Mazda5 than my wife and I. He didn't pay attention to anything we said, ended up putting my wife down first on the loan application, even though I told him to put me first. Also the goof took through a drive thru car wash before he brought it to us and since it was February all the doors froze on the ride home. Now that is is in for warranty work I found that they don't give loaner cars either. Not happy with them at all, and will not buy from them again.(evil)

I think this is the same problem as the Mazda5, in my area they may service 1 or 2 a month only, serious. I still recall when mine ordered 2 struts for my liftgate when the right one became defective. Nicely they wanted to switch both at once, but guess what, both orders were the left ones at first so I wasted a whole morning on my appointment there and needed to come back on a later day once they got them right.

But after that they know me and they are really nice, as a matter of fact I bought from them the 2nd one. The sales guy owns a 5MT Mazda3 so he was all excited telling me about all the features. It helps to know what you want though, i.e. it made me laugh when asked me if I wanted a test drive... ehhh, I've driven one already for years, so not really, but thanks ;)

The 06 purchase (different location) was an "OK" experience (test drive but the guy does not drive stick, gears cracking, then long wait to sign the loan, blah, blah) but there was no other 5MT around for miles.

In summary I guess Blue Swede has been fortunate and that is great, but you see the good and the bad for all brands and dealerships, it is not just Mazda specific.

why do those idiots even mess with the switch? the power window switches on the miatas are ALL on the center console!

the level of dealership service in europe is leaps and bounds over the US as it is still inconsistent... so you probably wouldn't be saying this if you lived here

Hmmm, too generic of a comment. I've known of ugly stories there as well, Europe has many auto brands and many Countries.

There's a thread on the speaker sizes of all mazdas including the 5 and what fits and what doesnt in existance on this site.
