Server Issues?

Thanks for the updates everyone...I'm fully aware of the recent technical issues we've been experiencing and we will resolve them ASAP...We may have to upgrade our current server or purchase a new one sooner than expected! (eek2)

I will post any updates here as well...Everyones patience and understanding would be greatly appreciated while we sort out these technical issues...Thank you and enjoy the forums! :D

No worries at all! Glad we're back up and runnning. For me it wouldn't even recognize Mazda247.com when I put it in the search bar. Made me think that someone forgot to renew the webaddress w/ GoDaddy (eek2)

Big Thanks for understanding, everyone...Quick update!

We're working on possible solutions as I type this post...I will post updates here as soon as they are available...Stay tuned!

NOTE: Please try to keep your search inquires on the forums to a minimum for the time being...Apparently, that is one of the reasons the server is getting overloaded...It seems our database is becoming too large for the type of server we're currently using and it may be causing these recent issues.

Thank you for your support and enjoy the forums! :D

mmmmm sorry folks. it is me. my old imgboot account got cancelled because they siad i embedded photos incorrectly.

wouldnt let me on like 15 min ago, said that server too full. happens at least once a day now.

hat's what we are all getting. If it's not that, the domain names aren't even recognized, and it takes me straight to a search engine.

Yeah, seems busier during the day, toward the later night it loads okay.. it's a b**** though.

its been fairly decent for me today. only had issues once. last week was a killer though.

actually i run into a bunch of issues at night too... day has been better for me.

i dont know who hosts the site... looks like systemcrash.org.
maybe using a hosting service called "system crash" is the problem.

in any case all these redirects to search engines is because the DNS records aren't properly maintained... so i'm led to believe.
when stuff like this happened with me it was when i was using dynamic DNS updating.
so when my ISP would arbitrarily change my IP, it would take the servers a few minutes to get the updated IP. explains why a host lookup and entering the IP doesnt work either.
how do you guys have this hosted?

if this is being caused by members who are searching for posts and threads.. and im guessing its posts and threads that are well over 1 or 2 years ago.. why cant we delete threads that have been inactive for more then 1 or 2 years.. i mean seriously we have what 242,000 threads..i bet over 50% are inactive threads.. that would lighten the load up on the server since it wont have to search for threads that are 2-5 years old.

thats a good idea but I bet we end up losing a lot of good into in that process to.

well i dont know if its always been in place, but today i ran into a "searches are allowed every 30 seconds" policy. i think thats a better first step.
i might be new to the forum but i can say i used the search extensively to learn more about the car when i first got it. i still do... theres a lot of really good info. i dont think it would be smart to risk losing some of it, unless someone goes through it by hand, which would take years.

well how many F/S threads that arent closed are still on the server, i just did a quick look at the 6 sale section and theres stuff for '06 in there.., and the off-topic threads are nuts too some with 1000 pages thats a big load on the server, removing half of that crap would be good... theres lots of useless threads out there.
