seat warmer questions

i was looking in to getting seat warmers and have been browsing the internet idk if anyone has done it or any exp with them some of the seat warmers out there lok iffy chim in throw in ur two cents

Go with one of the carbon fiber ones as they tend to heat up quickly and more evenly. Also you can trim them to fit (length-wise anyway) if needed. Other than that the biggest difference you'll see is what kind of switch/control they have. Some will have on/off, others will have multiple settings. You could try looking somewhere like heatedseatkits.com.... or just google search it. You can generally get one seat for about $75.

Any idea where I could find the factory heated seat panel? I believe it goes under the radio where the 12v outlet is.
 
You'd either have to scavenge from a junked 3 with heated seats, or order one from a dealer. I also believe the OEM heaters are on/off, so an aftermarket heated switch might actually be more awesome than the OEM one. If you're careful when you mount them you could put them in the same place and have it look perfectly fine. Depending on the switch you could also put it somewhere else if you like.
 
I bought mine and previous owner had heating elements installed in seats. Switches for mine are on side panel of seat by door and not very noticable, but looks nice.
