seafoam

Good point... I felt a little bad when I did this last week because some little kids were playing down wind of me.

Does everyone really see the black smoke coming from the exhaust? I bought my car used, and the previous owner didn't appear to take great care of the car, so I was expecting black fumes to spew out like crazy, but it never happened. I put about a third of the can with the PCV, a third in the gas tank, and a third in the oil. Maybe I did something wrong.

Used a can in my Protege's intake - seemed to make a difference, but for $4? a can it's great entertainment driving around flooring it and fogging up the street, people on the sidewalk, and major intersections. ;)

Might try it in the gas soon just to see.

Ohh and every car I've seen seafoamed gets whitish grey smoke. Never black...

Lets see my brother seafoamed his '95(1st) and '96 Millenia, and his MX-6, I seafoamed my car, and my friend seafoamed his '90 Civic hatch.

Might be fun to have a seafoam gathering, put the stuff in and go for a very smokey drive. Heh

I'm not too sure I'd go driving around with seafoam in the car; even the directions on the can state to only idle it. I can't see the stresses of high RPM plus seafoam being in the mix a good thing for the car.

I don't drive around with SF, unless it's in the fuel and if anything it will reduce chances of det.

when I run it in the oil I let the car idle at op-temps for 15-30 minutes...

Works fine in every car I've seen seafoamed...Didn't notice any stuttering or drivability issues while driving with the stuff in the intake, actually seemed to get smoother and smoother as I drove, thus the product works.

I gotta get a can of this stuff. Of course, I just moved into a new house, so I suppose I'd better find another place to use it. I don't think I want my neighbors' first impression of me to be a mad-scientist type white fog covering half the nieghborhood.

So you should seafoam the car before an oil change, correct? I should probably wait until I fill up next time, because I already have acetone in the tank now.

so, do you just put this in the pcv valve or the pour little by little on the one of two hoses (T) that connected to PCV valve. I'm thinking about putting 1/3 in the there and 1/3 in the gas tank.
please let me know

man, after doing about 4-5 cans of SeaFoam via the PCV hose. My o2 sensor is clean as a new one.

I took a piece of vaccum hose long enough to connect a t-fitting and enough to reach to the bottom of the SeaFoam can the t-fitting had a fat end that was wide enough to fit in the PCV line(i took the PCV valve off and put it back into the valve cover) and the other was small enough to fit in the vac line.

I used a black pointy end with a real small hole and put it in the end of the vac line that will go into the SeaFoam can. I got the black pointy end from a real cheap self-bleeder kit for brakes... I bought it at O'Riellys or AutoZone.

The reason I did so many treatment was becuase I used the smoking effect of the SeaFoam to find exhuast and vac leaks on my car and in the process cleaned out my car too...

It was funny becuase before I did the SeaFoam treatments my o2 sensor looked like a huge chunk of coal and now it as clean as if you bought it at a store.

so do a SeaFoam treament once a month if you run rich and then on oil changes put it in your oil (3/4 can) and run it at operating temps for 15-30 min's then drain. Also run a can at each oil changing in your gas use a full can with a full tank or at least have 8 gallons or more in your tank... You can also run 6oz of SeaFoam in your oil after you change it, to use as a oil conditioner....

All I know is the stuff does work , to eat and clean carbon and junk out of your engine if you use it enough...

Apoc, I'm suprised it cleaned your o2 as well as you say. I haven't checked mine lately.

I did my first SF treatment about a month ago. I put 1/2 in my tank and I put about 1/2 through the brake booster line using a vacuum hose off of my T-fitting that runs to my bov. It worked well. I just let it sip it out of the can. If you do run it through the intake manifold, your idle will be a little eratic. Keep the rpms up a little. Running through the manifold also helped me find Vac leaks also. Watch out for the smoke. I underestimated the amount and did this in my parking garage at my apartments! A lot of smoke.

I've been happy with the results thus far. It helped with performance and I also seemed to gain about 2mpg back with the treatment. I'm looking forward to trying it b4 an oil change. Thanks for the tips people.

When putting seafoam into the gas tank, do you add half the bottle to a full tank or an empty tank? I would assume with a full tank so it will mix with the fuel but I'm not sure what it would do the fuel (harmful effects?). Any help?

is there a picture or something where you could mark off specificaly where it is? thatd be great thanks
