scraping sound

occasionally i get a brake scraping sound. cant tell if its the shield or caliper? anybody have the same problem ever?

Yeah when it's freezing out...I think it's the caliper sticking because it only happens for a little bit then if I drive away fast or pump by brakes it'll go away.

no its no hum....its a loud screaching. like the heat shield. i go faster...it makes a faster scrape....then eventually goes away.

I had a piece of tar (just a pebble) that got stuck between the heat shield and the rotor, it made a TERRIBLE noise! It was very very loud. I just got under the car and used a screw driver to bend it out enough for it to fall out and won't happen again.

My driveway is rock and somehow one ended up wedged between the dust shield and the rotor. Made a horrible sound.

How new is the car? for about the first 1000 miles or so, I had a scraping sound from my brakes and it was just the brakes breaking in. its nothing major.
