SCCA Nationals Donations

You run on Thursday and Friday, I run on Tues and Wed. I hadn't planned on staying all week, but I might.

I registered today online, looks like STX is going to be a huge class.

Haven't decided if I want to drive the MSP or tow to Topeka, it's like 1400 miles. Idaho roads aren't very coilover friendly.

Keep me informed of what you are doing with your setup. I've got to install mine this Friday and then go racing Saturday/Sunday. That doesn't leave me much time to fiddle with adjustments so if I can get a good baseline that would help.

Well, I did have to grind out the upper bolt holes on the spindle mount to get any neg camber in the rear. Even with the strut hat all the way in, and camber bolts I was sitting at 0.1+ on both sides. Now without the bolts, I can go up to three. But I think I'm backing down to -1.7. That is about all I can tell you about the setup, since mine are not adjustable. Definitely run the bolts up in the front with the nuts on top, looks ugly but you'll see why. Ride height measurements are in your other thread, but you can go lower because of your tire size.

Tire choice is my big dilemma right now. Then just a few other small things. All the big items are off my list.

Hoping to go but still working out the details.

Crap...I was hoping the rear camber thing would be easy. What did you mean by running the bolts up in the front with the nuts on top?

What's up guys...Is this current list accurate?

How are the donations coming along?

How many of you are sporting Mazda Forums related decals?

Are you guys going as some sort of team?

It would be cool to work something out...Let me know...Thanks!<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

What do you gotta do to run anyways? I'd like to go... do I just need to sign up and show up? I'm a noob, this will be my first full season of autocrossing.

My brother and I will be there in STX. Not in the Pro5 though. We're running a 1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S with less than 100WHP! Last year we finished pretty much last in SM in a supercharged Ford Focus. One day maybe we'll go with the flow and get something competitive to drive.

Lucky for us we are only traveling from one state over (Colorado).

Heading out Saturday, warmup event on Sunday (lucky us!), course walks on Monday, running Tues/Wed., driving home Thursday. Gonna trailer it cause not sure it would make a trip like that on its own! :)

Nationals is a blast! This year will definitely be interesting. I ran an event at Heartland back in April just for the heck of it. Won DS in a friend's Lexus. Hope you guys get your "slick surface" setup dialed in.

So far the list is accurate with the exception of probably one or two people to be added. We have one donation so far and another donator is waiting on a final count of the people going. We still have a full month before the event actually starts so I'm hoping we can get a few more donations in before then. I haven't talked to anyone about going as a team. It's kind of tricky since some of us will be running at the beginning of the week and others later in the week. Some of the people won't be competing in Mazdas, but I wasn't going to hold that against them if they are an active member here. I'll be running Protege5.com decals and hopefully ProtegeGarage.com decals if I can figure out how I'm going to put them on my car.

Let's keep the discussion going so that we can best serve all of us who will be a part of this!

To run Nationals you either have to run a Divisional/National Tour event or pay an extra waiver fee ($75) if you haven't. I need to get a few more logistical items figured out as it is my first year in Topeka as well. I'll be caravaning there with a couple of veterans though so I hope they can help me get the feel of things.

Ha...yea...the "get something more competitive" is said to me on a weekly basis. I'll have something built soon enough. I'll be heading out there early as well to get a lay of the land and plenty of course walks in. What event is on Sunday? Several of my home lots are "slick" surfaces. Kinda of sandy like I've heard HPT is. Hopefully, it will favor a little heavier car, but with FSP running the last part of the week I have a feeling there will be a good groove already layed down.

The nationals warmup event put on by the local region is running sunday. There is also a warmup event put on by the national office the same day for people that did not make it into the local region warmup event or the ProSolo Final. (watch for details on this if you are interested in it)

It's possible that I'll be in Topeka that early. If you have any info on it let me know.

I'm down for that. I will probably be in Topeka on Friday or Saturday so I should be able to make it to the T'N'T. That also gives me a few days to goof with the car.

Riders are allowed at the warmups on Sunday. So if we can swing schedules accordingly, I'd love to have someone ride along and tell me if I have some more time left in my driving/setup/car or if I'm s**t out of luck! :)

Up here in Denver I'm losing out on power to the WRX's and TSi Talons cause they already have twice the horsepower and being turbo'd, they aren't losing as much of that hp to altitude as my N/A engine. I'm hoping to gain a good bit more going "down" to Kansas than them. Still I don't think it's going to net me 2-3 secs per day.

As for the lot at HPT, many may have read about how small it is. I'd have to say, I have faith that they can build a couple decent courses on it but I'm gonna have to see to believe.

I'll be there, but not with the Protege... My wife and I are towing the Elise to get our butts kicked in SS...

Sweeet! Great to hear it! :) We'll have to go get some chow.

It'll only be 1,500 miles for me each way, and that's only around $800. (crazy) (Assuming 11 miles to the gallon).

I prefer not to think of the numbers and just deal with them when I get home.
