Split Second has a FTC (fuel timing calibrator) and I think John (DSM) is going to start working on that for the MPS.

I do mean the MAZDASPEED Protege. MPS doesn`t refer to the MSMZ6 (MAZDASPEED 6). The reason MPS is being associated with the 6 I guess is because Mazda is really starting to push the Mazda Performance Series (MPS) line. However, when Mazda realsed the very first car in the MPS line (the MAZDASPEED Protege) they dubbed it as "MPS" for some reason. I`m guessing to keep in tradition with MP3, MPV, and if you wanna cal it this; MP5. All pretty much Proteges (even the MPV looks like one, it`s a Protege van). MSP is an abbreviation made up by Mazda Speed Protege owners, cause it makes sense.

noo noo. Fuel timing calibrator would control A/F AND timing. Not fuel timing. Sorry, I shoulda explained a little. It`s essentially a higher end piggyback ECU controller. Kind of like the Unichip minus the electronic boost controller (although a lot of people w/unichips use a different EBC than the Unichip) and you can tune the Split Second FTC yourself (however you will soon be able to control at least A/F yourself on a Unichip).

Your point is? That`s some FUNNY stuff. Doesn`t mean I don`t know anything about an AFC or FTC. Especially the Split Second (I only know a little about others).

back to this FTC thing, is there an add on for the airflow AFC for timing? i'd like to know because basically with timing control the AFC would be perfect.

No, as far as I know, no add on. I know they sell timing retarders (for nitrous) but I don`t know about retard/advance all in one. MSD might have somethin you want.

no, not really. not with race fuel and supporting mods. I wasn`t telling anyone to supercharge their Protege or anything and go run 87 octane WITHOUT ethanol injection...

diameter doesnt really matter, cause u can just get a straight through 5/32 or 3/16 vacuum connector (whichever size vacuum hose ur using) and work it in there. then connecting it to the vacuum live coming out of the manifold would be fine. there are a couple of good threads on hooking this thing up.
