Sad story... (hehe....just read)

Okay I use to be registered as Dave_13_2002 on here but I forgot my password and my email account was deleted, so I signed up again here as this name. Now here is where the story gets sad.
I owned a 2003 Black Mica MazdaSpeed Protg, with some minor (FMIC, JIC exhaust, Fidenza/ACT flywheel/clutch, Apexi BOV, Blitz boost controller, Blitz TT, Custom hard pipes, Custom Short ram intake, and a NX N'tercooler kit (rice but nice ). Well 2 weeks ago I was at my friends summer home in Ocean City, NJ. We went out the clubs (in my friends car left the MSP at the house locked up tight alarm armed and set super sensitive, club and all) around 7pm and did not get back till around 1am. We arrive to the house no MSP, just the club sitting on the driveway. I called the cops, and they said they would keep me posted on the situation. Last Monday I received a call from NJPD they said they found my car...or what was left of it. I head to OC again to recover my car hopefully. When I reached my car it had no rims, mods, seats, shifter, pedals, stereo, or spoiler. BUT that was not the worst part.... It was TOTALED.

Well the good news is that my insurance will cover the car and will replace it. I am going to take delivery on a Yellow 2003.5 MSP on June 20 2003. Only 3 mods will be covered under insurance as I lost most receipts. (The mods are intake, exhaust, and boost controller.) So in the end I do lose some money, but I got a new car again and IT IS A 2003.5 YELLOW MSP.

I am not sure, I was looking at the car at the police station on the back of a tow truck. Oh on another note before this happened I ran a 13.82 @ 103.36mph (2.51 60 ft). Hope that i will soon be back at those time maybe even lower, also it still handled like a dream.

if i were you I w0ould find out..maybe you can salvage some of those hardpipes! go piece out that car man!

No none of the pipes where there, no turbo, no Intercooler, no n2o, intake.... who ever did this knew exactly what they were doing as there was no finger prints, doors were not forced open, the engine bay was in great condition just missing everything. :'(

Dang Dave, I don't even know what to say to that. It's a little mixed. You had a pretty good set-up going on and you lost it. However you get a 00 odometer and a blank canvas to work on again. What are you going to do differently this time? Similar mods? Same mods? No mods?

I planned on going to TurboXS or Altered Atmosphere (both around 30mins from my house) and seeing what they can do, prototype parts/what ever. And working from there.

Cool. Thanks. I was just curious to see what your answer would be to the "what if you could do it all over again" question would be. Glad to hear your insurance company took good care of you and you are now back in the drivers seat!

Oh my first mod will be the most expensive/best alarm out. I want one that links to my phone/pager and warns me of any thing, has an engine imoblizer, steering lock, and any other options i can add. I know it is paranoia but I do not want to see it happen again. Any suggestions on an alarm that fits all or most of the above would be welcomed with greatful arms.

We have a guest house on 9th street. Since we have no parking at the house, we have to find off street parking. I usually get a spot around 7th and Ocean or something like that...Not too far from the house, but not right where I can see it....

Now I'm scared to death...my car isn't nearly as hooked up as yours....But still? They just left the club sitting there? Damn, just look forward to your new ride. And I must say, I think yellow is a much better choice!!!
