S-Pipe Pictures

Is there a mani gasket that should be replaced after doing this? And Custom, you need to customize your tools to reach some of the manifold bolts? I can't imagine this being that retarded, a Mazda guy had to put this s*** on in the 1st place, my dad always said the job is always easier with the right tools. I am sure a thin walled high quality socket will do the job. Any recommendations on reattaching the oil lines, do you need to put any kind of sealant on there or are we just relying on the pressure fitting to keep things leak free? And don't scare my buddy Jon with all this talk of how hard and s*** this is going to be hehe, I admit its going to be a tough ass job, but its doable.

Thanks for all the info guys, The manifold from underneath after the new s-pipe is installed prolly just saved us an hour of trying to make it fit from up top haha.

I suggest you get yourself some replacement gaskets for the oil drain line. I just reused my mani gasket. I had about 30k miles on it, and have put about 10k since no leaks so far.

Do I need to get oil drain lines from Mazda or would an Auto part store have them? I have never disconneceted a drain line before so I am not sure what kind of gasket is there, I will know sure enough I guess.

Thanks for all the wisdom though, I really appreciate it and I am sure my buddy goku does too since his car is always the guinea pig (except I got my boost gauge in first ;) )

you should be able to get them through the dealer...if not just do a search on google.com for garrett t25/t28 oil drain flange gasket

my whole exhaust is aluminized......if anybody here has welded before, you know what I'm worried about.

ingrexco, custommsp: thanks for the help! yeah my car is the guinea pig for us, so I appreciate all this advice and any other tips you have to offer to help us w/ this install!

hazexban: yeah man, thanks for doing this research...and I will get a boost gauge someday!

Not to be a ruthless salesman, but coming from New York myself I dont understand the use of Alluminum anywhere where rust can become an issue? We only use the highest quality materials for our parts as our customers cars are high dollar investments and as such anything aftermarket should meet or exceed OEM standards.

not aluminum.....aluminized steel. I made the whole exhaust myself including cat. and muffler (all 3") for less than 350$...... I have a wintercar so it doesn't get driven in bad weather.

Not to be critical but since when does aluminum rust??

My question is can the s-pipe be made of aluminized steel rather than stainless steel, I know my limitations in welding.

Not to be an asshat ...show me respect, I give respect

I have an existing 3" catback, is there anyway to get the rest including the S pipe? how much would that be?

Last i heard, GHL was trying to figure out a setup that would include their system from the S-pipe(downpipe) all the way to the cat, for those w/ existing catbacks or those who wanted to go custom catback. I'll call Jeff tomorrow to check w/ the progress on that. I can't make any guarantees that they will go ahead and make this, but I did suggest that they try to offer it and he seemed pretty receptive.

Or you could always sell the catback you have now and go all out w/ the full system (headbang)(rockon)(nana)(shocked)(wiggle)(drinks)(2thumbs)(lol2)(naughty) !!

If GHL will produce the S-pipe with straight 3" pipe all the way back to the factory mount point for the cat-back hey will have a very hot product. I know I would be in for one and would gladly pay an extra $100 for the additional piping as it would make my custom cat back fabrication so much easier.
