RX-8 seat issue (scratches head)

My driver side seat makes a craking noise when I turn in either direction, basically when my weight is shifted in either direction. It is not a powwer seat. The sound annoys the hell out of me, just spoils the drive, I was wondering if anyone else has had such an issue and might know what is causing this since I would hate to loose some time at the dealership waiting hours before they figure out the issue.

my seats squeak too when turning under normal speed, yes it's annoying, i believe on the rx8 forum they said it's the seat rail rubbing against the floor mounting point, there's no official mazda TSB to fix it, people that had it 'fixed' under general warranty, for many of them eventually the squeak comes back. meh, as long as it doesn't come apart while i'm driving on track, i'll live with it lol

oh, if you corner hard it doesn't squeak, maybe just drive around like you really have to get somewhere really quickly? lol

It's more of a cracking sound not at all a squeak, it drives me nuts, I want to try to take the seat out myself and see what the problem is.

EDIT: and the noise is always there.

That's an issue with a ton of cars. My P5 seat does it every now and then in corners. Guess I need to lose a few lbs.

The problem is before they find the problem themselves, they take forever, I dont have half a day to loose at a dealership for stupid thing like this.

I would guess that if I take the seat out I should disconect the battery because of the side airbag?
