Rust Warranty Stinks! Help!

I just came from Dufferin Mazda. Had LOF and rust inspection on 2002 P5. I have gone regularaly for all my inspections since the day I bought my car from them. I have rust bubbling on both rear wheel wells and all 4 rims. Service came back and said that none of this is covered under the warranty. What?! The car is 3 years and 4 months old. I purchased the extended warranty and the lifetime rust protection. Is it my fault that their undercoating and their yearly inspections failed to stop this from happening? No. Apparently I have to have a hole in my body before they fix the problem. So what am I supposed to do? Wait until I have a hole and then they have to fix a bigger problem? When I bought the car, they told me that going out on my own to a rust protection service may void the warranty. What warranty?! I probably would not have this problem if I did go to a Rust Check. I love my car and take good care of it. I don't want to drive my car with bullet holes of rust. And I keep reading here of people getting their rims replaced. That would be nice. I am planning to write a really nasty letter to Mazda Canada. I can only hope that this gets fixed. What else can I do?

I would write a not so nasty letter to mazda canada explaining the whole problem, and then if nothing happens with that, or no response then get alittle nastier, and continue till you are damn near telling them you are going to bust down the doors strapped w\ explosives... but really I work with warrenty stuff and when people come in all irate it makes me want to help them less. If you can keep a cool head and explain your concern, they may put some pressure down on the dealer you went through and have it fixed... and if they tell you to fu(k off, im not sure how to stop the current rusting, but wont some of the ruber undercoating spray work to stop it from happening again?

I had all four wheels replaced in June. My warranty was up June 19 so I brought the car in for one last warranty hurrah. Complained of clutch chatter (which I had brought it in for like 2 times before) and third gear synchro issue (which I had brought it in for like 2 times before) When I dropped it off I was like, all my wheels are rusting and the paint is bubbling. I figured what do I have to lose. So I get a call later saying that there was nothing wrong with the clutch or the transmission, and that they were replacing the wheels under warranty. Like 2 weeks go by and no call to tell me that the wheels had arrived, so I called them and they were like they had been there for like a week...thanks for letting me know. I bring the car in and then go to work, I don't hear anything from them all day and it's getting close to the time I leave work so I called the service department and the guy I talked to said that I was all set. A coworker drops me off to get my car, I take a look at it before I go into the service department and notice that they never replaced the wheels and I was like , wtf? I go in and find out that they had ordered the wrong wheels. So I had to drop it off yet again and I was starting to get pissed. A week later they ordered the right wheels and I brought it in and they replaced them. When I was finishing up with the service advisor he told me that I was pretty lucky because the regional Mazda rep happened to be at the dealer the day that I brought it in the first time. Apparently they need to do a certain amount of goodwill work. So basically some people will get their wheels replaced and some won't. It all depends on your regional rep is feeling that day or whether or not they had done a lot of goodwill work lately. Seems to me that if they are selling cars with defective wheels that rust within 2 years they should have to suck up the loss.

The new wheels do look nice though. About 10,000 times better than the old ones. Every single one of the old ones was curbed plus the paint had been coming off from where the balance weights had been put on and taken off. The dealer put the inside the wheel weights on the new one so they are all pristine now.

At least you have the extended warranty. If they get worse and have on choice but the replace them it will only cost you $100 to get them replaced which is a deal compared to the $1000 you'd have to spend to buy them yourself.
