Rush in a Car Crash! (MSP Totaled)

I feel really bad for everything...and I'm also very surprised...cause that could of totally been fixed. Your airbags didn't even pop, right!? Anyway all the best....you'll be stylin' in a new ride real soon and forget about the msp/headaches ha ha!

s***...If you would have bought it back..I would have paid for it and come got it this weekend with a trailer.

I hate to see a good car go to scrap.

For anyone that's seriously interested in picking my MSP up -- shoot me a PM and let me know. I've already had a few people send me messages, and while I still have to figure out exactly WHO prospective buyers would have to contact about buying the car -- I will gladly find that information to ensure that my MSP goes to a good new home!

EDIT: I still can't say that I personally understand why they wouldn't fix it, save for the relatively severe damage to the frame on the front of my MSP. However .. to be perfectly honest .. I'm not looking to buy another MSP. I had mine for five and a half years, had good times with a huge grin plastered across my face and awful times when I wanted to drive the damn car off a cliff .. And I'm ready to move on. I'll always miss my MSP, but like a lot of my friends & family have been telling me -- everything happens for a reason, and I'm taking the accident as a cue to move forward.

Bravo. This'll be one of those cars that in years down the road, your grandchillin's will be asking you about your cars you've owned and you can gladly proclaim that once you owned a piece of Mazda history. :D Happy car hunting!

as i said before, you really don't WANT them to fix it with any form of front end damage - the car will never be the same again, no matter how much you spent trying to get it there. As much as the guys with their car-o-liners would love you to believe they can get stuff back to within manufacturers tollerences, my own recent experience shows this isn't the case - and my front ender wasn't nearly as serious.

Honestly though - put the call out, and get ppl to help you - don't let it die on the scrap heap. someone has to have a garage. somoene has to have some spare change to donate to you to help you get it back to you - and there has to be some ppl here who can help you swap everything over to another chassis for cheap....it can't hurt to ask....

for sure. I'm sure dino would lend you some space, and I'm sure he has a trailer. There has got to be at least 5 people on here willing to help for nothing more than pizza and beer, to atleast get her torn down, to where the motor and suspension is out.

i'll pull some moolah off of my build and paypal it over as my contribution...on the proviso that its used to put the motor, tranny and suspension into another BJ (or - something cooler...aka what Xeldrex did with the gen1, only turbo bwahhaa)

see this is what this forum is great for. Helping those "genuinly" (spelling) in need.
unfortuately the poor aussie dollar means you wont get much for what I send - but enough maybe for a carton of brews and a pizza or 3.

Well...if Rush is happy to do it... maybe a new thread should be started...so this depressing one can be left alone....

a new thread calling for action is whats needed (of course, only if Rush wants help...if its to painful to revive her car from the dead - or too late....).

seriously.... all the help/contribution Cindy has made over the years must be worth a little something from the people on the forum.

agreed, if I were there I'd totally help you bring all the parts over to another car

alas, if I didn't have to pay the shop for my cylinder head work at the moment I'd shoot that over too....builds aren't time-oriented, nor are they ever finished...this is
if you do decide to then I'm down to help out too mid-february

put the call out rush, I'm sure there's peeps here that will help out

Oh geez guys -- while saying I appreciate the offers isn't sufficient to express how thankful I am that you'd all do all that for me, it really just isn't necessary. Though it does give me an awfully big warm fuzzy feeling inside, and makes me even more indebted to this community for everything you have done and have offered to do. :D

I'll continue to keep you guys updated on "what's next". There are a few cars I've been eyeballing .. but until anything definitive happens, I'm going to keep my mouth shut. ;)

I don't have much but I'll throw some cash in for a fellow titanium owner as well. I'd offer up wrench time, but PA is not exactly next door.

Come on guys, lets rally here.

Here are my criteria:
- First off, I would like to make this purchase as worthwhile as possible .. as in, the used car I pick up now could be used as my 'beater' when I get my 'step up' car in a year-ish. So I'm not looking for a car that would 'get me by' for a year .. and then explode.
- The car needs to be either a sedan or a coupe. I don't do wagons.
- The car needs to be a manual. I can't stand automatics anymore.
- The car needs to be a bit on the smaller side. I'm just a little guy, so I don't do well in cars that are more like small tanks.
- Good gas mileage, for the love of GOD.
- Something that's RELIABLE. If it has some pep to its step, that's great, but it's not a requirement.

Please note -- I WILL NOT BUY another MSP, P5, Speed3, or something like that. While I love(d) my MSP, we ALL know that they come stock with more than their fair share of problems. That's not something I want to have to deal with in a 'beater' car. And as I said before, I don't do wagons, so I will not get a P5. And people, PLEASE, do not tell me to get a Speed3 because I CANNOT AFFORD IT!

I've been eyeballing a couple older Subaru WRX and RS cars. I think something along those lines might do well.
