running an AMP off the factory head unit!!

is it possible to run an AMP off the factory head unit, or do i need a special connector or something? figured i would ask here before attempting to pull it out and look for myself!! thanks guys!

Yeap. Either get a LOC to interface from behind the deck and run a couple wires to your amp, or tap into any line to a speaker and use a high-level adapter if your amp has an input for it. I had the guys who installed mine tap into one of the rear speaker wires for signal. Fast, clean and reversible when I get around to upgrading my head unit.

Something like a high level adaptor. Turns speaker lvel signal into line level. You can also go for a unit like JL's CleanSweep if you intend on keeping the factory HU. It's a good option for cleaning up the audio coming out of the factory HU so you can stay stock but still enjoy good sound.
