A few weeks ago my check engine light came on and I took the car in to get them to read the code for me. They said it was my catalytic that was bad. I had a 6 hour drive to make for the christmas holidays so I gutted my cat for the trip. I have noticed that the check engine light (CEL) comes on after a couple days and I figure that the sensor behind the cat is triggering the CEL.
I have a parts car with low KM that I will be getting a cat from tomorrow so monday the CEL problems should be solved in my daily driver.
However I want to eventually make my parts car into a track car (trialerd to events) for solo 2. So does anyone know how I might solve the CEL problem in that car? I would like to still be able to rely on the CEL to warn me of other problems. So is there a way of making the stock computer run without the imput of that sensor or giving it a false reading so it thinks there is a functioning cat?
