I want the Rota Tarmac 3 rims for my car and was wondering about the offset. I an getting the 18 x 8 with the bolt pattern 5 x 114.3. The only thing is that this rim I can get with 3 different offsets, +48, +45, +35. I am not sure as to which one to get. I get confused with the offset. I have the stock suspension on my MS3 but I plain on lowering it about an inch with some lowering springs (have not decided yet on the springs). But i also need to know what is the maximum size tire that i can use without it rubbing. I don't want to go through rolling fenders or anything. Thanks in advance.

Get the +48 offset wheels if you want to minimize the chance of having clearance issues.

I'm using a 235/40R18 on 18x8 et50 wheels with no rubbing. A +48 mm offset will put you 2 mm closer to the fender than me. To be absolutely safe you might want to go with a 225-width tires...

yeah i was thinking a 235 or 225, man i wish there was more rota wheels that had the sports bronze color. There are some but they are 17 inch rims. Quick question: What is the advantage of going with a 17 inch rim instead of 18 inch. Is that setup more for the track??

Yeah what NLiiitend1 said, go with a 225 on a 8 inch wide rim it'll stretch the sidewall (completely acceptable) so if you do lower it on that offset they won't rub on the fenders.

is there anyone else out there that has used 18 x 8 rims and the 235/40 setup on a +48mm offset? With no rubbing even when lowered?

I had 235/40R18's on 18x8+48mm Rota P1s on stock suspension and no rubbing. I think I would have been safe to lower an inch but lowering this car really doesn't make any sense at all from a performace standpoint so I chose not to.

#1) It depends on the brand of tire and the tire size (i.e. 225 on a 8" wide rim have lower profile sidewall than a 235 would because it would be stretched out more over the width of the rim.

#2) It also depends on how much you plan on lowering it.

#3) Do you plan to put a system back there because the added weight will also play a factor in how low it goes.

that is a negative on the system, I have had a system before and i'm just not into the system boom boom anymore. I was going to lower it 1- 1.5 inches. I want to get the rota torque or the rota tarmac 3 rims 18 x 8. I want to get Kumho ecsta MX tires.

or maybe the COBB SPRINGS not to sure. i want to do simple setup with notice performance and with no rubbing. I just cant decide to get 235 or 225 stretch or no stretch. I personally don't mind the look of stretched either, but i want to get 30,000 miles out of my tires with no weird wearing.

The cobb's would be a good choice IMHO. Not to much of a drop but it also will give you the performance you want, You should get an RSB also, I've heard it's well worth it.

If your certain you want 235's more than deciding how much a drop you want I would get the rims and tires first then measure how much gap you have then decide from there.

I know what a rear sway bar is I just did not know what a RSB is, lol. That could have been short for something else.
