Roof Rack ?

Has anyone removed the roof rack without undoing the hole inside of the car????
Can i just yank it off???? lol can i just brake the plastic and get to the bolts ???

no u have to take the whole inside of the car apart
there really is no other way because theres bolts inside that u need to undo before u can get to the bolts on the outside

even if u break the plastic u still wont be able to get to the inside bolts

Yes, there was a genius here on the boards who got on top of the car and pulled really hard, and ****** up his roof.

That said, you can get the cross bars off, but not the rails (without undoing the interior).

I believe he only posted pics, sorry. He basically dented his roof pretty bad. Not sure if I can find it right now, it was ages ago.

If you remove the cross beams there are filler panels that snap into what's left of the rack mounting hardware which is bolted to the roof. I think it looks fine like that, so that's how my car is. If you want to remove all the rack hardware, including the two longitudinal structures on the roof you will still need to purchase the thinner filler strips that go up there instead. Also you will need to take apart some of the side pillars and pull the ceiling liner to get to the bolts. Seems like a lot of work just to lower a bit of black plastic by an inch.

Here is the deal... some of the plastic is already broken so thats y i want to remove it... but its a crap load of work just for that.
