Rocket turned 3 yesterday

So "Rocket" (named after a character in a cartoon my kids watch) turned 3 yesterday. A bit over 76,000 miles. So far no real problems. The front end still squeaks. The shocks all blew out and had to be replaced. Yes, it has a trailer hitch and I tow with it all the time. I have no complaints, it has been a good car.

Time flies, now that I see it, my 06 is about 3 1/2 and my 08 is one already. I put much less miles I admit, so I've only had exhaust recall, the eventual bushes squeaking, the dashboard tapping when cold, the...

OK OK, I'll leave it there, nothing critical to me for a car that price, LOL

Thank you Rocket! I was just recently thinking of starting a post like this.

We are still enjoying ours, and after 3 years and 48k miles.

Same complaints as the others, with the suspension noises, tires, and other misc stuff that was all addressed under the Mazda Factory TSB's.

The things that bother me the most about the car right now is the weak shocks/struts, and all of the wear and scratches on the Alum. painted interior trim, such as the trim around the window switches and shifter surround trim.

I am very picky and over critical sometimes, but I continue to be impressed with the way the Mazda5 fits 95% of my driving needs. From enjoying the sporty car-like handling on a twisty road, to an efficent commute, to hauling 6 people out to dinner, to hauling odd sized items from IKEA, or the home improvement store, nothing else I have seen or driven can do all of these things as well as the Mazda5 has done.(2thumbs)

I was wondering what you found available in the shock department($$?) and what you ended up with?

I went with factory replacements. I'm hoping that some improvements were made between the first set and the replacements. Might be a big hope though...
