Road America

Hey Derrick any plans to run in the 2014 runoffs at Laguna Seca?

Yes. I am working on planning for the Majors events to get to the runoffs. With 3 of the events being south of the bay area there will be some time off required and some money for fuel for the tow there and back.

Here is the majors schedule posted online.

Jan. 17-19: Auto Club Speedway
TBD March: Inde Motorsports Ranch
April 25-27: Buttonwillow Raceway Park
May 24-25: Pacific Raceway
July 4-6: Portland International Raceway (Conference Finale)
- One additional event from San Francisco Region will be added to the calendar.

There was a hint of 2 events in the San Francisco region which would be crazy and great.

I'm sure you can find a person/shop where you could leave your car down here and turn it into an arrive and drive.

Who says I haven't :P

We are actually looking at running the 2 at the 25hours of Thunderhill then hauling it south after the event to get ready for the Jan Majors event to keep the tow short. It is the same crew which I hitched a ride with to the Runoffs.

Do you think you will have enough car left after the 25 to still race? (lol) Just go ahead and order the bodywork now. (thumb)

We have replacing all of the suspension, windshield, and other wear items in the budget. I already have a spare hood and I am looking for bumpers. I expect it to be a bit rough fighting it out in E3 and not getting run over by everyone else. The other drivers have run the event before, I am the only rookie.

do they allow spectators there? Laguna Seca is only about 45 minutes away, would be awesome to go check it out in person.

Have you thought about tear-offs for the windshield?

I would definitely love to see the CorkSport car at the 25 of Thunderhill.

I haven't looked at tear offs for the windshield, I will add that to the list.

Yeah the family was the big one. I was gone quite a few weekends racing and an understanding wife is a huge help.

Congrats!

From the photo it looks like you are sitting super low...I'm guessing if the seat were any lower you wouldn't be able to see much. It'd be nice if they made the roof a bit lower on the two, because only a giant would run out of headroom in this car (and it would look better, be more aerodynamic, and weigh slightly less).

I have the lowest seat mounting of all of the other B-Spec cars I have seen. My goal was to keep the center low in the car and yes anything lower and visibility would be a problem, lol. Most of the people who see the car say it reminds them of the touring cars.
