im about to buy some konigs incidents for real cheap ....

theyre 17x7 with a 40 offset... will these rub or stick out too far?

That might work. From what I've read, our cars are recommended to have a minimum back spacing of 42 mm. Going to 40 mm might rub on the inside at full turn on the wheel. What size tire do you plan to use? Do you have or plan to get lowering springs? A 205/40 17 would probably work, but with the 40 series sidewall, you feel A LOT of the road. 205/45 is stock for the MP3 and much better at absorbing bumps, but still gives excellent control. 215/45 is what the MSP's come with and I know several MP3's that run those on stock rims, which I think have a 45mm offset.

You should be fine with that offset as long as you stay with the 205/40.

well its says 42 is the minimum on the 5's and the sedans can run 2-3 less so im right there lol...

so are these too far out or in?

i have +42 but 18". rubs on left turns and some bumps when i have even one person in mine. if i am solo i am usually good. thats with a 35 tire by the way

205/40/17

7.0" +42 and higher; Barely making it

With an offset of +40 and the sedan able to accomadate 2-3 less, you will be fine.

sweet the rims im getting are konig incidents....ive been wanting these for a while, and i was gonna pay the 525 for them new but i found a guy selling them for 250 locally!!

Actually it would be too far IN. Offset is measured from the face of the rim to where the rim bolts up to the car. So 40 mm offset will put more rim under the car, 50 mm offset will have a bit more rim sticking out of the wheel well.

No I have 50mm offset and tuck fender... 40mm I would be riding on my fender!

I believe offset is measured from the center of the width?

ya they're definitely farther out... but they look good and aren't too far out... we'll see how it does once its lowered
