I bought a 2019 CX-5 one month ago and notice the BSM in the right side sometimes turns on with no car besides me (every frequently). The dealer checked the 'code' and found nothing. But this problem is kinda of annoying. Did you experience the similar problem?
Here are some videos about it
Thank you!

Totally wrong. Insist that they fix it, codes or no codes.

After the dealer checked the code what did he say the next step should be because there's obviously a problem. I would find another dealer (if close) or contact Mazda NA.

My BSM only comes on when there's a vehicle in the blind spot.

Yeah should be fixed for sure.

At best mine has some false positives from fences or light poles or something pulling into a parking lot.

Thank you! That's what I was thinking about. But when I contacted the dealer where I bought the car from, they replied:

"Always remember, your new Mazda is in the Mazda Warranty Guarantee stage right now*so if you think there is a problem*bring it to us or any Mazda dealer and it will be fixed to perfection*all covered under this excellent warranty program designed for customers just like YOU. When are you heading to California? With all this cold weather, I*m sure you are in a hurry to head west as soon as possible."

This is the closest dealership, where they checked the code. Do you suggest that contact another dealer?

Thank you!

Yes. I looked some similar reviews that the BSM is sometimes sensitive especially in night and sunset. But mine is just too sensitive and frequent.

If they won't fix it, go to another dealer if it's not too far. Then tell Mazda about your experience.
But if you don't want to go to another dealer, don't take no for an answer.

Why the bleep would I go to another dealer. I'd call the area rep and explain the problem. Ed

Sorry I did not describe it well. It is not on all the time. It turns on very frequently, especially at the speed 15-35 mph. I modified my post. The original description was kinda misleading.

My guess is also the metal guard rail.
It is based on radar, which picks up metal objects within a cone-shape zone.

Mine will do it if I drive by a concrete lain divider. The divider probable has rebar in it. Ed

I test drove a new Signature yesterday, and found the same thing you describe. I was puzzled as that BSM is so sensitive. Our 2016 GT has BSM and is very helpful, but not this sensitive.

I was upset by the many nanny features on the 2019 Signature. While the salesman told me I could turn them off, thats not the point. I returned to the dealership disappointed and got back into my Speed3 and went home very thankful for my little car!

I grew up driving manuals without ABS. I find the nanny's okay. I ignore the ones I don't like. It's a personal thing for sure though.
