Has anyone, on any car ever ran both a supercharger and a turbo? I'm just curious, not really caring about results, just curious if anyone's even attempted it.

Its possible... everythings possible.

I've seen it. It was on a 2000 Civic Hatchback believe it or not. It had a B16, Vortech supercharger and a Turbonetics 60/1 Turbo. It was crazy, actually it is for sale in Newington VA. I'm not sure what the hp is on it, but it's pretty crazy under that hood.

One of the car magazine (I think SportsCompactCar) was working on one.

They dropped a Camry V6 with manual trans in a MR2, and wanted to both supercharge and turbo it.

supercharger for quick throttle response, turbo for big boost? ... is that why?? same concept as sequential twin turbos?

Yes for the MR2 (they call it MR6 cuz it's V6) project the supercharger is for quick throttle response but their main focus is on the turbo for boost. The turbo they planned to use was a big one and it lack a lot of low-end power and have a longer spool time. I've also heard of sequential twince turbos with different size turbo and use the smaller one to assist the big one to spool. Me no tech guy and after read both I think the supercharger/turbo setup sounds better I think...

I figured it would of had to been done already, its really cool in concept. I like the idea of using a larger turbo for top end, high rpm power, and the supercharger for low end off the line kind of accel.
