Ricktalife's EPIC fails and maybe a build thread too

man that took a while for what should have been a couple hour job... what went wrong? i see why this thread is "EPIC fails" now haha

Tell me about it! I spent a couple days looking for fuse taps and s*** then my dad helped me rig it up. The electrical part is the part I couldn't do myself. We used some velcro to hold the box up in the little pocket by the driver door. Looks nice and clean now.

I think I am going to relocate my MAF and run the BOV only VTA now instead of going with the recirculation setup. I just need to find a guy that can cut my cold pipe without ******* it up. I've been waiting to get rid of this dual setup so I can finally get a custom tune going.

find a guy? you dont have a metal saw?
thats what i used, a hand saw with a metal cutting blade on it, litterally cuts through the pipe in like 2 mins if that

I suppose I could try, not like I would pay much if anything since I know a bunch of mechanics. I just don't want to screw up lol.

Alright well I completed the relocation today but I've got some issues. I'm can hear a hint of turkey after the BOV, and the idle is way lean. Like 17.0-16.0 even if I tap the gas a few times. Every 30 seconds or so the idle will stumble a bit and almost die out. Now I had to rig a few things up so that may be my issue but I wanna know if my MAF is too close to the TB. I'm praying it isn't because I already cut the pipe up...

Yes I realize the caps where the BPV and MAF was are totally ghetto but that's all I have until I can get it welded shut. Of course the old MAF location will not be welded just need to find a better pipe for it lol. So does anybody think that the parts where I ghetto rigged it are causing the issues? My vacuum was reading normal.

Tomorrow I'm going to put the BPV back on to see if that improves the idle. I'm thinking the red cap isn't working, which is only temporary anyway.

thats where my maf is in my turbo life kit. almost exactly. but my bov is closer to the radiator support. idk man thats pretty weird

I'm pretty confident that it is far enough away from the throttle body, and I don't think the BOV would be affecting the idle even if it is a little close to the MAF. I put the BPV back in just a few minutes ago and I still have the idling issues, but no turkey.

edit: and yesterday I switched back to the stocksupermap on my AFC.

edit2: do you guys think I need 440's considering all my mods? right now it's boosting around 6-7psi but my goal is 9.

no, you dont need 440's until you upgrade the turbo, i was running 12 psi for a long time with no problems
and dude, why is the BOV turned that way? rotated it so the vac line is shorter so u dont have to run it under the pipe

okay I was just checking about the injectors. And to tell the truth I'm not sure why I have the BOV turned that way lol I will adjust that to make it a shorter route.

edit: any suggestions on a new AFC map? like I said I'm using the superstockmap right now just to be safe. I also disconnected the positive battery terminal to see if I can reset my ABS light.

have you reset the ECU since moving the MAF? it may help for the ECU to relearn itself with the new setup. it may do nothing, but it could be worth a shot.
