Has anyone programmed/wired their reverse lights to come on when their keyless entry unlocks the car, like what GM cars do? Since I now have LED reverse lights, I figured it would be useful in dark areas, since I work all night delivering.
Correct me if this seems like a bad idea, but here's my thought: If I run a wire from the dome light switch or bulb (sunroof model) to the backup lights, this should make it work right? It would be a long wire, and would take a lot of finessing to make it fit without taking off the headliner, but does this seem like a good idea? Does it seem like something that would short out the bulbs? I would probably run the wires in parallel from power/signal on the dome, split in the back, and run them to the power/signal on the reverse lights.
Anyways, I suggest doing it with the dome light cuz it would automatically turn off the light if a) the doors never opened and the car locked itself again, and b) if the car was turned on. Any other ideas? Maybe do it from the ignition illuminator-thingymabob?
