I tried KBB yesterday just out of curiosity, and it worked.
I don't think the price was real-world though as it seemed like too much.
Were you going to sell it yourself or trade it in?

Trade In: $13,450 Excellent, $12,600 Good, $11,225 Fair
Private Party: $14,980 Excellent, $14,080 Good, $12,730 Fair
Obviously that's not going to happen in the real world. If I can trade mine in for $13,450 I'd do it & just get a brand new one.
If I was guessing I'd say $11,500 trade in.
I traded in a Jeep Liberty with only about 3,000 miles on it once because I hated it.
It's a dumb financial move obviously, but maybe not a huge deal depending on the payment situation & your particular finances.
If it makes you happy & doesn't screw up your finances then I say do it if you're not happy with what you have.

I think $11,500 is doable especially if you're purchasing something else from them.

That said, it should hold it's value well according to the salesman at the the dealer I stopped at today. He was explaining that due to the tsunami he has seen values for used Mazdas jump upwards of $1000 over the last month. For example I saw a 2011 3i sv with 4K miles with no options stickerd at 17,200! Also saw a 2010 3i touring with sunroof and Bose system just shy of 32K miles that they were asking $17,700 for.

That's quite the change in car. I kind of did the opposite, moved from a STI to a 2. I think the 2 is pretty fun to drive, it's just not that fast. It was frustrating driving the STI as a DD. You have to get it up to ridiculously fast speeds to feel like you were having a sporting driving experience. I do miss all the torque. I don't miss hypermiling the STI and getting 24mpg.
mray, I paid 13,750 for the 2. Industrial, I agree its a big change. Believe it or not I have owned 4 EVO'S, two Eights and two Nines!! I actually found a very low mileage 2004 STI for sale locally but the guy wants a little more than I want to spend for that year car. Ill find something, Hopefully if I buy privately I will be able to sell the 2. If not it is a great car so keeping it wont be bad either!! Im also looking at a 1965 austin cooper S . If I get that I will keep the two.

I called a dealer & he said between $11,000 & $12,000 if I traded my 2 in.
I'm not trading it in, but I was just curious.
I paid $13,500 + $100 for the processing fees for title & registration.
But I didn't get the 0% interest deal, so I'm at 2.99%.

Meh, lately I've been contemplating doing the same thing...selling the 2 for something more sporting. I do miss having a nicer car. I'm going to do my best to hold out for the 500 Abarth or Fiesta ST (because god knows a ms2 will never come).
