Reprogramming a remote starter

Howdy fellow p5ers
my car has the full remove starter system installed, but the remote wont work?
do I need to reprogram it? If so, how?

what brand starter? some are really easy, some aren't

If you can post a brand up that will help... I got a compustar with my p5 and it wasn't set. Took 5 turns of the key from on and off
and then press a few buttons ans it works! However the battery died and now I can't get it set again but that's another thread.

make sure its not in valet mode, compustars don't normally lose a program when the battery dies. They also won't program in valet mode. You have to set it normal then disarm and it should take a program.
