Replacing HU on M3 with automatic climate control

Hey,

I have a Mazda 3 with automatic climate control which uses the lcd display to show the temperature and other climate control statuses. So, I can't take out the LCD (I do not live in the US... US models don't have ACC).

How can I remove the HU and install my own radio and leave the LCD working in place? (I understand it's connected to the radio?!)

Maybe a dash kit to install the radio near the ashtray?

um i think the lcd screen is totally part of the radio. but i have not seen anything besides us models so i could be wrong.

it is... i have seen people install a radio in the ash tray or glove box.... if you don't mind stuffing it in there then you aren't going for looks so my first q is why do you want an aftermarket? there are many ways to get around having a stock hu to do what you need to....so what do you need it for? then i can help you a little more..
