Replacement front MP3 sway bar bushings (Polyurethane)

My driver's side front sway bar bushing has slipped off and completely dissapeared. I figured I'd replace both of them with Supension Techniques greasable poly bushings. Took the old remaining passenger side bushing and brackets off. I tried the new poly bushings....wouldnt work. They are too thick and I am not interested in doing a bunch of mods to get them to work. I just want to find stock size poly replacement bushings. Does anyone know if any are availabe?

BTW you do NOT have to drop the subframe to take the brackets/bushings off. Just a little patience and common sense.

As stated, it's 25mm.

And I'm curious to know what the process is to replace them then as I want to replace my old bushings and don't want to drop the subframe, but don't want crazy headaches...any chance of you writing a quick and simple how-to?

the drivers side was easy. i removed the intake, battery and battery tray it was easy access from there. i have not done the passenger side as I don't have endlinks connected yet.

Okay, I just got the replacement bushings from the dealer (revised with teflon on the inside) for the time being. Everything worked fine and it feels good, but I found some poly ones used for a mustang coming. I am pretty sure they will fit. I will update you all on how I make out.

Well I got the Mustang bushings yesterday. Too big. I will keep trying to find a poly replacement.

bump for a how-to on this. ive read people say u gotta take the subframe off, some say u dont, so forth and so on. nobody has taken pix to make a how to yet? lol. im gonna take photos when johnridinhi helps me with my front sway bar bushings

you have to remove the subframe for the sway bar removal, but for just the bushing it should be easy, when u jack the car up and remove the wheel u can clearly see the bushing and the 2 bolts u have to remove
on the passenger side that is, the drivers side is easy too, just follow what that one guy up there^ said lol

Guys, Sorry to bump an old thread but this is the one that keeps coming up in searches.
For anyone that's dropped the subframe, I need some guidance.

For the front sway bar, I got the two drivers bolts out and the front passenger bolt out in about 15 minutes without removing anything. The rear passenger bolt wouldn't break free and I was starting to shear my swivel so I decided, screw it, I'll just put it back together and be done. I went ahead and changed the driver bushing while it was possible. But I couldn't get the rear driver bolt to line back up and I couldn't get the front pass bolt to line up.

I spent hours. So I'm thinking I need to drop the subframe but it looks like everything comes down... the control arms, the engine, everything. Am I making it overcomplicated or am I in for a mess?

You should be able to just drop that front cross-member and be good. You def. don't need to touch the motor...
