removing speed governor

if someone asked if it was safe to take a stock 6 to that speed the answers might be different....just asked how to bypass it i thought??

i'm hoping to crack 150 next year. at the last event we had at Cal Speedway where were a few cars cracking into teh 160 range. including a turbo duratec focus.

im actualy hoping to put some kinda boost into my car at the end of the year when i put it away for the winter . any suggestions anybody?

Why would you want to boost (turbo or supercharge) a FWD v6 ?

Just asking.....

no! boost is very fun in cars, i own two turbocharged cars(my ms6 and my 79' 2.3l turbo mustang) and absolutely love them both.

i'm willing to bet the reason he is asking you why you would boost a fwd v6...not cuz its a v6..cuz its FWD. personally i hate FWD...i like drifting haha. so (iagree) with him on that one... but still its like throwing a turbo on a civic...only it will be faster (2thumbs)

so go for it, and remember f*&! the nay-sayers bro. no offense meant anyone
peace

yeah.......my gf has the 6s....... V6, copper, hatch....... it's pretty quick with it's v6 and being a "sport sedan"

i'm just thinking a turbo on that sucker might cause a LOT of tire spin from dig.... whether racing 1/4 mile drag time or doing auto-x.....

is your car manual or the 6 speed auto........(hers is auto with the triptronic shift, it's nice)

just make sure you have the proper work done to the car........ too many no0bs just slap on a turbo and then run high boost and wonder why they blew their engine to high holy hell :D

got some bad news. Your 6 wont drift and it has a front wheel drive bias.(peep)

Just because the engine will take you beyond the governer doesn't mean you should. There are other issues at hand such as tire rating, suspension, and down force which would make going beyond the governer unsafe. In fact, I can't believe you people are actually going beyond 100mph on public roads.

Chasing your friend in his mustang is all well and good until a deer jumps out in front of you and you realize you can't stop or make any sort of maneuver without rolling the car 20 times in the process.
The car would be safe beyond 150...

These cars are still capable of drifting...... I've seen it at that Mazda Midsummer Heat test drive......people were trying (and some succeeding) to drift the RX-8 and the mazdaspeed6.....my friend was one, and he got kicked out.....lol (idhitit)

How would you know? I thought you gave me a lesson on how to drive and you said that I should not drive 145... So how do you know about 150?

He drifted a Speed 6?? That must be hard with the AWD right?

yea , the tires do allready spin quite a bit when i really lay on it . ill be getting it back tomorow with a brand new engine . so no harsh driving for about 10k clicks at least . gotta break it in nice. my cars not exactly stock . its got the mazda speed exaust. mazda short trow shifter . mazda cold air intake .aftermarket rims . ive always wondered if mazda speed parts im buing are worth the money. cause they are a bet pricy compared to other shops intown .my six also has the five speed standard. and i swear i can do a 0-60 just as fast as any speed six ive ever raced . ESP autos .

lol . i would love to race a turbo civic . im extremely confident my car will run mid 13s as is . b18's cant even touch me. i beat my buddys "N/A" h22a all the way to 140 b4 i slowed down. i wouldent doubt a mid to high 12's qtr with a turbo . same as the speed6.. or mabe even faster .

doesn't the ms6 have it programmed to allow drift when you pull a little bit on the handbrake? thought i seen that somewhere.....

it's AWD, same as a skyline, evo or sti.... it may be fwd biased, but the torque management adjusts to each tire as it sees the need.... he wasn't the only one drifting, and i'm pretty sure he was using the e-brake....

if you can drift a skyline I dont see why you can't drift a speed6.

and mazdaboy.... no offense but I highly doubt you can keep up, let alone beat a speed6..... especially with that comment about the autos..... mazdaspeed6s do not come in auto configuration..... 6 speed manual only.

don't know if there is a point to stay on topic....but i'll do it anyway

Unichip is for lack of better terms, a piggyback ecu that plugs into your car. if you have a local "autorized Unichiip tuner" all you have to do is go in and they can remove the gov and do some dyno tuning for your car if you'd like. as i think their "out of the box" tune is just for a CAI or something.

again, hard to confirm, as not many play that high. but has anyone confirmed that cpe and/or Xede removed the limiter? i never heard that either did that, so just wondering where that was covered?

Yeah...... I'm sure my GF would love the fact her v6 hatch could keep up with my speed6... she was asking me last week

"If I put a turbo on my car, would I be faster than you?"

(boom07)

I tried hard to not laugh and hurt her feelings so I just said "sure baby ;)"
