Regarding Texas Tint

I live in Houston where from what I've heard and experienced the cops are naturally strict; so when choosing tint I'd like to get some opinions on tint i.e (percentage allowed, recommended percentage and any spec brands?) Yes I'm aware that tint is covered in other threads, but I'd like some Houston or at least Texas opinions regarding the matter. Also, if it matters my ms3 is true red

I believe 35% is the limit, but heard that its 25% is the limit now (not sure). I went along with 5% on my past MSP, and loved it. Yes it IS illegal, but imo is needed in the hot ass sunny Texas weather. Though it will be hard to see behind you at night in dark places. And im not too sure about brand name tint....and never had any trouble with the cops.

yeah, you can go as dark as limo in the rear window, and 20% on the side/rear, and 35% on front/side...but like citizenpro said, i've seen it somewhere that 25% is legal on front/side windows.....my brother is a pasadena cop and he fowarded the link to me one day that states the %......i got 20% on all side windows, and 5% on rear window....it's dark! haven't gotten pulled over (knock on wood) but i tend to roll down my back windows or a front window if i'm rolling by a cop to let some light in.....
